Jenna Ellis: I love talking about the things of God. Because of truth and the biblical worldview, the U.S. constitution obligates our government preserve and protect the rights that our founders recognize come from God our creator, not our government. I believe that scripture in the Bible is very clear that God is the one that raised, up each of you. And God has allowed us to be brought here to this specific moment in time.
Bishop EW Jackson: This is Jenna Ellis in the morning, And it's Bishop E.W. jackson in Virgina today. Merry Christmas, everybody. I hope you're having a wonderful season. And I trust that you are not allowing yourself to be pressured and harried and concerned about whether you spend enough money or get enough gifts or all of that, that you stay focused on the real meaning of the season. And the real meaning of the season is that we are celebrating the birth of our Lord and savior, Jesus Christ. That is peace inducing rather than, pressure inducing. Okay. because we know he is the prince of peace and he didn't come so that we would go into debt and basically just stress ourselves all out trying to do this and do that. Just relax and, enjoy the season. And sure, there are some things that we have to do. I'm in Atlanta right now visiting with my granddaughter and my daughter and her husband. And we're having a wonderful time. But you know, we remember what this is ultimately all about. It's about faith. It's about family. It's about enjoying the fact that God our father, sent Jesus Christ our Lord to redeem us from our sins. You know, I'm preaching a two part series. Well, I finished it up now preaching a two part series called the Season of the Supernatural. And I talked about all the supernatural events happening around the birth of Jesus Christ. And you know, I really, really, I really believe that God wants to mark this season with supernatural revelation and intervention into our lives. He wants to do wonderful things for us. And, in fact, yesterday I talked about something that I frankly have not heard anybody else talk about. Maybe you have. but I went into some depths talking about these wise men. You know, the Bible doesn't say there were three. That's a tradition. The Bible just says wise men. Now, I, Guess people have, have concluded that because they brought three basic gifts, gold, frankincense and myrrh, that one brought gold, one brought frankincense, one brought myrrh. But it doesn't say that. That's just something that people have, have sort of imposed upon the text. I really believe that there was a caravan of, wise men, probably a school of them that were students of scripture who, who God could really get to. Because they were so immersed in the Word, God was really able to get to them and speak to them. They didn't discover that star. You know, God revealed that star to them and God commanded that star to guide them. and they had to go through the, the Arabian desert and all kinds of dangerous terrain. And based upon the scriptural, timetable, they may have been traveling for a year. That wouldn't have, the normal case, taken them a year to go, say from Persia or somewhere in one of these eastern regions. but it would have taken them at least a few months, in the normal course. But I really believe that God had them on a timetable to arrive at just the right time. And, and look, they arrived and were called in to see Herod. You know, Herod the Great was one of the most brutal, bloodthirsty, tyrants that ever ruled over Judea. You know, he killed three of his own children because he thought they might be three of his own sons because he thought they might be a threat to his, his kingship. He killed his, his wife, he killed his wife's parents, son in law, and, and, and then killed who knows how many countless others because he was truly a blood thirsty man. but he was very, very prominent. They called him Herod the Great. I mean, he personally knew Mark Anthony, he personally knew Cleopatra, he personally knew Caesar Augustus. He's a very powerful man. Those, those magi, those wise men were not called in to see him because it was stumblebums who just happened to arrive in Jerusalem, and happened at the king's doorstep. I mean, he called them in because they were clearly very prominent people. When they arrived, they started a buzz in Jerusalem. This Bible says when he heard about it, he was troubled and all Jerusalem was troubled with him. They weren't troubled because they thought the Messiah was born. They were trouble because they knew that if Herod was troubled, everybody was likely to be troubled. But in the middle of all of that, God dispatched angels. God moves stars. God, protected Joseph and Mary and the Christ child supernaturally. You know, God wants to do supernatural things for you. You know, this is the season for healing. This is the season. Not that God will not do it at any other time. Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting that. But I just think this is a special season that God wants to mark out as a special time. and God wants to supernaturally deliver you, supernaturally heal you, supernaturally help you in whatever ways you might need it. You know, I've often said that every human being has this in common. Now, we have many things in common, of course, but every human being has this in common. We all have trouble. You're not getting through this life without it. Not a single one of us. Now, it may be bigger at some time than others, and your problem may be bigger than mine, or mine may be bigger than yours at a given moment, but all of us are going to have trouble. And by the way, all of us are going to have some truly significant trouble somewhere along the way. But God is there with supernatural power to deliver us from trouble. The Word says many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers them out of them all. And I believe that with all my heart that that's what God wants to do. Now, of course, we're not perfect human beings, and we don't live in a perfect world, and things don't always work out perfectly. But I really believe that that's the way God wants them to work out. He always wants them to work out perfectly. And when it came time for the Christ child to be born, he worked it out, didn't he? Every single detail was worked out perfectly.
You ever think about the fact that Joseph and Mary had to travel
You ever think about the fact that Joseph and Mary had to travel probably about four days to get from Nazareth to Bethlehem at a time when she was just about ready to deliver? And they weren't riding in limousines. I mean, they were riding on a donkey. They probably were riding with a group because it would have been so very dangerous to travel those roads, in the pitch of night, staying overnight maybe on the road in the wilderness, knows where. it would have been extraordinarily dangerous to do that. So they probably travel with a group for their own safety and security, just like the wise men. The wise men would have had to have supplies, they would have had to have, security. and they would, obviously, they brought treasures. They opened to them, their treasures. You know, we always see that depicted as a little trinket, his little dab of gold, his little dab of myrrh, his little daba. I don't believe that you travel halfway across the known world, with for a trinket to meet. To meet the person you believe to be the greatest king ever born. I don't know how great their revelation was of Jesus's Messiah, but they knew they were going to meet the greatest king ever born. A great. A king so great that a star left its normal habitat to guide them to it. You can't tell me they. They traveled all that way, just two of them on three camels with a couple trinkets. I really believe that they, they, in a sense, financed, what Mary and Joseph had to deal with, which was to go down to Egypt on their own in order to hide from him, from, Herod and stay there for as long as they needed to. God had to provide for them. They were sent on a mission. you know, the point of this always, folks, is no matter what the situation, and we're facing some situations in our, country right now, no matter what the situation, when God is ready to get something done that's according to his plan, his purpose, his will. All the devils in hell can't stop him. M all the armies of Herod can't stop him. All the bandits on the road can't stop him. In other words, all those forces that would try to come against you in life, all those forces that would try to stop you from accomplishing what God has for you cannot obstruct and cannot stop what God wants to do. All he needs is human cooperation. He won't force anything on anybody, but that's all he needs is human cooperation. Be it unto me, Lord, according to your word. Behold the maid servant, the man servant of the Lord. Be it unto me according to your word. That's all God needs. Those wise men were willing to cooperate. Herod, the slaughter of the innocents, tried to kill every child two years old, and younger, in order to stop the Christ child. In order to kill the Christ child. But he couldn't get it done. He's willing to shed all that innocent blood, but he couldn't get it done. So no matter what anybody tries to do, they cannot stop you from fulfilling the mission that God has for you. And now, they just. I did not go to Amerifest, but, but I don't know whether it's over yet or it's about to be over. But they've been having that out in Phoenix, Arizona for the last few days. They say it's the largest crowd they've ever had. 30, 000 people there. Because the mission that God gave to Charlie Kirk could not be Stopped even with the death of Charlie Kirk. And the same is true for you and me. The same is true for this network. The same is true for. For all of us. The word of God says, for we know that all things work together for good, for those who love the Lord, for those who are the called according to his purpose. That's how we named our church the Call. That's where the name comes from. Romans 8, 28. So be encouraged in this Christmas season. Believe God for great things to happen. Boy, that's. That is nothing wrong with giving gifts. And don't get me wrong, I'm not. I'm not suggesting that because I. I enjoy that. I enjoy giving gifts. I don't quite know what I'm going to give my granddaughter, but I'll tell you what, I'm going to enjoy every moment of giving it to her. But. But that's not ultimately what the season is all about. Is. Is ultimately about a celebration of the greatest, the event that ever happened in human history up to that point, which is the birth of the Messiah that people had been waiting for for thousands of years. Now he was on the scene. What the angel said to the shepherd. Behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. For there is born to you this day in the city of David, a savior, which is Christ the Messiah, Mashiach the anointed one, the Lord. And you shall find the babe lying in a manger, wrapped in swaddling clothes. Glory to God. So, Merry Christmas, everybody. and it's just great to be with you all. Thank you all, so much, as always, for your support for American Family Radio and, and, and. And all of the organizations and. And expressions that grow out of the root of the American Family association that allow us to serve you and to serve our country, to serve the American people with the gospel of Jesus Christ.
I want you all to weigh in on America Fest controversy
So now, the first thing I want to raise, speaking of America Fest, I want to ask you all, I'm going to be taking calls a little bit later, and I want you all to weigh in on this. You know, I really had a great deal of admiration for Charlie Kirk. You know, I didn't realize this, but Charlie Kirk was one of the guests. We have a. What we call the National Awakening Coalition conference call. And we have it most Tuesdays. We used to have it every Tuesday. We're now down to a couple Tuesdays a month. But Charlie Kirk was one of our guest speakers back in 2020. I'd forgotten to tell you the Truth. so I've always been a supporter of his, and somebody who really admired how God was using, using him. but he wasn't perfect, and neither is Turning Point. I want to talk a little bit about some things that I think we need to be praying about with regard to them. We'll be back in just a moment.
Preborn Network helps women choose life through a free ultrasound
Jenna Ellis: We're living in a time when truth is under attack. Lies are easy to tell, easy to spread, and easy to believe. But truth, truth is costly. And nowhere is the cost greater than for mothers in crisis. When a woman is told abortion is her only option, silence and lies surround her. But when she walks into a PreBorn Network clinic, she's met with compassion, support, and the truth about the growing life inside her. That moment of truth happens through a free ultrasound, and it's a game changer. When a mother sees her baby and hears that heartbeat, it literally doubles the chance she will choose life. PreBorn Network clinics are on the front lines, meeting women in their darkest hour, loving them, helping them choose life, and sharing the truth. Friend, this is not the time to be silent. It is the time for courage, for truth, and for life. Just $28 provides one ultrasound and the opportunity for a mother to see her baby. To help her choose truth and choose life, please donate today. Call £250 and say, baby. That's £250, baby. Or give [email protected] afr that's preborn.com afr.
E.W. Jackson: I'm convinced that the American people are over racism
Bishop EW Jackson: welcome back to Jenna Ellis in the Morning on American Family radio. This is E.W. jackson in for Jenna Ellis today. Great to be with you. Merry Christmas, everybody. Hope you're ready for the holiday. Hope you're getting into the spirit of the. Of the season. As the spirit of the season is that, behold, a babe was born in Bethlehem. M the savior of the world. look, so I, I go back then. I got involved with Turning Point usa, at least in recognizing what Charlie Kirk was doing five years ago when he, did a, guest appearance on my, my National Awakening Coalition conference call, which happens most Tuesdays. and we've had, I mean, we've had some wonderful people on he. To be a guest speaker on that call. He was one of them. And so I, for a long, long time, got a lot of friends who are profoundly involved. In fact, you know, some of the same donors to Turning Point USA donate to Stanford. Ah. And people had been saying they needed to put us together, put us together, because after that we just kind of went our separate ways. and I was Scheduled to meet him on the day after he was assassinated. That's right, folks. We were going to be at a conference together the following day, and we were going to talk that following day. I'd already met and talked to Lucas Miles briefly and just sort of let him know that we're here. We want to be supportive, because obviously we've got, still got a very, very big job to do in these urban centers. Because, folks, that's where we're losing. And we're losing primarily because of black and other minority voters in these areas who have bought into this racial ideology that the left has been selling and that has not been cracked. And I've been working to crack it and believe in God before I leave this earth. We will crack it, but it needs to be cracked. so that's one of the things I was going to talk to him about. In fact, I've got a program that we're working on called the King Douglas Forum in which we're going to do a kind of Charlie Kirk style forum, for people to talk about these fundamental issues that people are just being misled on. I mean, just these horrible leaders who are telling them lies and having them believe things that are simply not true, unhealthy, indeed societally suicidal. And to really crack through that and begin to penetrate that and ask, okay, explain that to me. Or as Charlie Kruegers famously say, prove me wrong. Tell me how I, as a black conservative am about abortion and how I'm wrong about the importance of rebuilding families and how those things far more than racism, if racism plays a factor in pretty much anything at all in this country, I'm convinced that for the most part, it does not. am I saying that there's no racists out there? Of course they are all over the place. They're probably. When I say all over the place, I mean, in every group there are some people who've got these irrational ideas about other people. I don't have any doubt about that. But that's not the nature of our country. Those are outliers. Those are anomalies. I'm convinced that the American people are over it. But the left is continuing to sell that because it is a way of keeping people under control. It is a way of keeping people in their camp. It is a way of frightening them, frankly, to vote the way they want them to vote and to think the way they want them to think. and so we're, we're planning these King Douglas forums to, to begin to examine that closely and to get grassroots people involved, because I'm convinced, folks, you got to go around these leaders. I mean, some of these pastors, and thank God, not all I can. I can name some that are associated with me and some that I know who are, just absolutely powerhouses of truth. But most of them, as far as I'm concerned, they're just race hustlers. It's sad, but it's true. They're just race hustlers. And then I'm truly preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ. Most of them are preaching a racial, cult view now that that stuff has got to be eradicated. And in that case, you got to go around the leaders. You got to talk to the people, because the people, they're not getting their hands greased, and they're. They're not getting the little special privileges of being one of these elite leftist demon crat leaders. And the people are seeing nothing except a little handout here and there. I think the people are ready for other answers, but they're simply not being given them because, of course, they don't want you to be able to give them. But anyway, that. That's kind of a little footnote. Here's what I really wanted to get to. You know, Turning Point USA is a wonderful organization, wonderful people, and I support them 100. But I don't agree with everything they do. I think, I said that I thought that, Erica Kirk meeting with Candace Owens was a mistake. And I think that's proven because Candace Owens has not changed a thing, to my knowledge. She's not. Nothing's changed. it probably added to some of her. Added to her audience, because again, I believe Erica Clerk has a far bigger platform than Candace Owens does. Far bigger. And so by meeting with Candace Owens and sort of giving Candace Owens a forum, she only gave Candace Owens more people to reach. Now, don't get me wrong. I don't have a problem with Candace Owens reaching whoever she can reach. And I'm not interested in trying to take Candace Owens or anybody else off the air. I don't believe in that. But I do believe that we have to make a clear distinction. You know, the Bible says God looked for a man to stand in the gap and build up a wall. What's the wall? The wall is the difference between good and evil, right and wrong, true and false. So that there is absolutely no mistaking where we stand. There's nothing wrong with making that distinction. That's not the same. so. So, so, you know, I, I thought that that was a Mistake. But here's the other thing. I, I think it was a mistake to endorse, J.D. vance. Now, I. You know, J.D. vance may well be the next nominee, and J.D. vance may well be the next President of the United States. But I'll tell you what. J.D. vance is not J.D. vance is not Donald Trump.
Charlie Kirk: I think this is a terrible time to be making endorsements
Now, that's probably not a revelation for most of you, but J.D. vance is not Donald Trump. And I think, look, and by the way, if J.D. vance was. Were running, if J.D. vance got the nomination, in fact, I may even support J.D. vance for the nomination. I don't know. But it's. We're three years out. Three years out. I think this is a terrible time to be making the mistake of endorsing anybody. I mean, I guess if you're the family member of someone, I understand it. Don't get me wrong. I understand it because J.D. vance has been there for them. They have become very dear friends. And so, I mean, in that sense, it makes. It makes sense. But from a political perspective, in my view, it does not make sense because again, JD Vance is not Donald Trump. And, And I think we need an opportunity to watch these cabinet members. I mean, we haven't heard from Ted Cruz yet. Marco Rubio, man, I am. I am more impressed with Marco Rubio than I have ever been. I'm serious. I was not. I was not very warm on Marco Rubio. I'm warming to Marco Rubio now because his position are so crystal clear. And Marco Ruby is one of the people who actually gave the gospel of Jesus Christ at the memorial. But Charlie Kirk, I mean, a clear and unmistakable statement of the gospel of Jesus Christ says, I. I believe he actually knows Jesus. So. And again, I'm not endorsing Marco Rubio. I'm not endorsing anybody. Ted Cruz is a friend of mine. I'm not endorsing Ted Cruz. but here's. Here's why I, I say that and why I want to sound a note and say, pray for them, because these are young people and folks, there is no substitute for experience. Now, they have been through some terrible. A terrible and traumatic thing, and I don't in any way want to diminish that or trivialize that or take that away from them. I mean, they have gone through something that most human beings never have to end. But that's not the same as walking through life and seeing through the various experiences of life, how people behave, how people change, how circumstances change, and, and, and how God moves, by the way, because God can sometimes moves in ways that we don't really anticipate or expect. I would. I would have kept my powder dry in that situation. But here's the other thing. I heard much of J.D. vance's speech, and I tell you, I, I wasn't that impressed. I really wasn't. I mean, I heard a lot of, you know, well, we don't want to censor people, and we don't. But there's a difference between censoring people and censuring people. In other words, saying. But let me make clear the distinction. I heard a lot of fudging of distinctions. You know, we can all come together and we know. Well, we can't all come together. and frankly, for me, a lot of his speech, not all of it, but a lot of it sound like a campaign speech. I don't know how that's going to sit with President Trump. I mean, if I were President Trump right now, I wouldn't want my vice president out making presidential speeches sounding like he's. Or making campaign speeches sounding like he's running for president, because only two. Only one president in office at a time am I again, three years out. So I'd like to hear from some of you. I mean, you may think that this is a little bit harsh. I don't mean to be. Because, like I said, I am a supporter of Turning Point usa. but I am not going on record by any stretch of the imagination to say who I would support for president, because I think it's just too early to know. I did not like some of what I heard. whether you're straight or gay or, straight or gay. Well, it does matter whether you're straight or gay. and you know, about. He didn't speak up about these Republicans, the young Republicans, making all these very nasty, filthy jokes about Jews, about, About black people. We don't want the Republican Party to be based upon race. We want it to be based upon principle. And yes, we want to be able to unify around principle whosoever will. But I don't care what the color of your skin is if you are not in agreement with our principal. we can't walk together. The word God says, how can two walk together except they be agreed? So we want the Republican Party and the conservative movement to reflect those Judeo Christian values, not just to be a hodgepodge of people who all get together. See, I said this. This is the way demon Crats think, which is we don't care what anybody thinks, says, or does as long as they become a Pathway for us to get to power, and then we can do whatever we want to do. Well, we don't think like that. I don't think like that. I mean, I had this debate with people about voting for a, John Reed. I didn't do it. And I did, folks. I've studied that Afterwards, too, after the election. Every time, every time a, a, King of Judah, every time they compromise to get help from an ally who was not in agreement with God, God rebuked them for it and said, why are you relying upon people who do not believe in me? You should be relying upon me, not them. And, to me, that's a lesson. Compromise never. I'm talking about compromising on principle. Now. I'm not talking about compromising on strategy or compromising on, you know, approaches, to things. But compromising on principle never leads anywhere good. Because you sow bad seed, you're going to get a bad harvest. And what you have to compromise to get, you have to compromise to keep. I think that's been the success of the American Family Association, American.
Bishop E.W. Jackson: The Bible says righteousness exalts a nation
On our network of organizations. It is uncompromising. It is. We are, We are unwilling to relent on the truth of the gospel of Jesus Christ or to come into alliance or agreement with people who reject the fundamental principles in which we believe. We just don't do it because we answer first and foremost to Almighty God. The Bible says righteousness exalts a nation, not compromise. Righteousness exalts a nation, not allying with people who are in fundamental disagreement with you about this, that or the other. But that's okay, because, after all, you know, we're a big tent. And, you know, now some of you may be listening to me and thinking, no wonder you didn't get elected. but look, I really believe that leadership has got to call our country to be its best self, not compromise with wickedness and, and. And evil and, and anti Semitism and, and all these weird conspiracy theories and, and. And white supremacy or black supremacy or, or, whatever. We don't have to compromise with all that. We don't have to deny that Islam is a potential threat to our constitutional republic in order to get elected, or if we do, I don't know, the country can be saved if that's the compromise we have to make, because we won't be a country then. And by the way people talk about European civilization, I've heard Marco Rubio to speak eloquently to this. He said there won't be any Europe There won't be any Western civilization in Europe before long. That won't exist. Because right now, for example, they're bringing Muslims across the English Channel, refugees from France, flooding, flooding England with these folks. I understand humanitarian impulse, people. Do these people really embrace the vision of free people? The number is 888-589-8840. That's 888-589-8840. This is Bishop E.W. jackson in for Jenna Ellis. I'll be taking your calls in. Just.
E.W. jackson: God wants his people to be united
Welcome back to Jenna Ellis in the Morning on American Family radio. This is E.W. jackson in for Jenna Ellis, folks, and Merry Christmas, everybody. Hope you're enjoying the season. I'm gonna come right to the lines. The numbers 8-88-589-88-4,0. That's 888-58988-40. This is Jehoshaphat. Jehoshaphat was a great king, but listen to this. It says, after this, Jehoshaphat, king of Judah, allied himself with Ahaziah, king of Israel, who acted very wickedly. And he allied himself with him to make ships to go to Tarshish. And they made the ships in Ezion Gabor. But Eleazar, the son of Dodovah, of Marasha, prophesied against Joshua, saying, because you have allied yourself with Ahaziah, the Lord has destroyed your works. Then the ships were wrecked, so they were not able to go to Tarshish. And Jehoshaphat was a good king, but he made the mistake of allying himself with people because he thought that wicked with the. With a wicked, king, the king of Israel, because he somehow thought that that was going to enrich him, that was going to strengthen him, that was going to help him. And all of that compromise that he entered into ended up as rubble. And I really believe that, that God wants his people to be the same way. Come out from among them, be separate and touch not the unclean thing, and I will receive you, says the Lord. That doesn't mean we hate people. We love them, we pray for them. But we can't attach ourselves to people who we know are behaving wickedly because God says, well, then you don't need me, right? I mean, what do you need me for? You got them? No, Lord, we need you first, foremost, always and only. And then God will bring us together with the people that we're supposed to be together with. And I believe that that is ultimately going to save this country. Not compromising, trying to cobble together some kind of group that is sufficient to win an Election. But again, that's. That's me. And you may, like I said, you may think. Yeah, no wonder you did. No wonder you never won an election.
Steve Jackson: Katandi Brown's confirmation hearing should have been defeated
Okay, let's get right to your calls. We've got Steve in Mississippi. Steve, welcome. Good morning, Bishop Jackson.
Bishop EW Jackson: Good morning, Steve. I just have a very brief question, in reference to Katandi Brown's Jackson and her confirmation hearing. What I want to know is, when she had that hearing, could not the people on the panel say it? I just in good conscience cannot confirm you because of the answer that you've given or what Joe Biden just said. I don't need you, and I'll do an executive order and I'll hang up and listen to your response.
Bishop EW Jackson: Thank you. All right. Thank you, Steve. No, she could have been defeated. Her nomination could have been defeated. And by the way, in my view, her nomination should have been defeated because she has been on the court, exactly what she demonstrated herself to be, in that hearing. A, ah, woman who has solely given over to leftist ideology. And I always say, if you are so committed to an ideological perspective, that that becomes what guides you, then you are not committed to the Constitution. And you will try to bend the Constitution to meet your agenda. And that is exactly what she has shown herself to be willing to do. So I agree with you. But no, if they had decided not to confirm her, there would have been nothing Joe Biden could do about it.
The idea of intelligent life on other planets does not come from evolution
Let's go to Mike in West Virginia. Mike, welcome.
Caller: Thank you for taking my call. Bishop, I wanted to make sure that you knew that. No, the idea of intelligent life on other planets does not come from evolution. two hundred and nine years before Charles Darwin was born, and 259 years before Charles Darwin's book was written, Giordano Bruno was burned at the stake for saying that there could be people living on some other planets. Also, early Christian writers, including Augustine, discussed ideas from thinkers like Democritus and Epicurus about countless worlds in the vast universe.
Bishop EW Jackson: Mike, thank you so much for the call. And they were all wrong. They were all wrong. But thank you for the call, Mike. I'll explain my views on that momentarily, but some of you are waiting on the line, so I won't take up the time to do it right now.
Bishop names several candidates he thinks are qualified to be president
Let's go to Rose in Alabama. Rose, welcome.
Caller: Good morning, Bishop. I, was thinking about you talking about possible candidates in three years, that it was too early for them to campaign. And I agree with you about Marco Rubio. And don't forget Ron Desantis, he understands the.
Bishop EW Jackson: Oh, yes. And he doesn't compromise with the sexual deviancy agenda either. I'll let you, comment on that.
Bishop EW Jackson: Well, thank you so much for the call, Rose. You just made my point exactly. I mean, we just named several people, all of whom I think are qualified to be president. Ron DeSantis, Marco Rubio, Ted Cruz, and J.D. vance. I certainly put J.D. vance in that mix. Like I said, I'm not against J.D. vance, and I'm not saying I wouldn't support J.D. vance for the nomination. I'm just saying it's far too early to be making that decision. And there are some candidates out there who really are some strong people. And as I said before, I'm taking a second look at Marco Rubio, because for the first time, really, in his career, Marco Rubio is really impressing me. Now I'm thinking, wow, this guy really does seem to have a depth of understanding of what we're facing in our country. and we need someone like that to be President of the United States. And again, I'm not endorsing him either. I'm just saying I think he's in the mix, and it's much, much too early to be sort of coronating.
Starla says Charlie Kirk would have wanted glory to go to God
J.D. vance, let's go to Starla in Louisiana. Starla, welcome. Hi, Bishop. It's so good to hear your voice on AFR again.
Bishop EW Jackson: thank you, Starla. My quest, you're very missed. My question is, as a man of God yourself, the days leading between, Charlie Kirk's assassination and, his funeral, I feel like, as a man of God, Charlie Kirk would have wanted more of the glory to go to God versus being heaped upon him so much. How would you feel about that?
Bishop EW Jackson: Wow. You know, Starla, thank you. First. First of all, so much for the encouraging words. Starla, you have asked a profound question. You really have. You have asked a profound question. And I have to tell all of you, while I'd like and admire Charlie Kirk and Erica, there are times. There are times. And you all tell me the lines are still open. 888-589-8-840. When I do get a little bit. Man. Is it. Is it. Does it sometimes feel like it's a little too much about him? And we are. We are kind of turning him into an icon now. I don't think that he would want that. And that's so. That's not. I'm not casting aspersions on Charlie Kirk. He is not here. but I think there is a little bit of that tendency. And I think we got to watch that. We've got to watch that. You know, I always say, I've said many times in speeches, when, you know, people, you know, they give you these. These wonderful introductions, and I'll be very honest, folks, I almost feel embarrassed. It's like, you know, who are you talking about? I mean, I know me, and my wife knows me all too well to think that I'm entitled to some sort of great exaltation. And I know my own achievements and accomplishments and what I really believe God wants to do with me. I'm far from what I think, the Lord would like to see me achieve. And I'm hoping before I leave this earth, I can do some of it. But I always say, for the moment it becomes about you, just get ready for the fall. Yeah, the moment you start thinking, yeah, this is. You know, it's like that. That donkey. Forgive me. You all, probably heard the story. The donkey goes into the. The. The stable, you know, strutting and bragging about. About. Man, I tell you, I walk the streets of Jerusalem today, and people praise me. And they. They laid down their clothes and laid down palms in front of me as I, just strutted into the. I tell you, you all just don't know who you're dealing with here. And one of the other donkeys is a fool. They weren't laying that down for you. They were laid down for the one who was riding on you. So, you know, I mean, that's the way we ought to see ourselves. It is ultimately God who deserves the glory, because what we have, he gave us what we are. He made us what we know, he taught us and where we are, he brought us. So to God be the glory for the things that he has done. You all know that song says, for with his love he saved me by his power he raised me to God be the glory for the things that he has done. Lord, just let me live life and let it be pleasing unto thee and if I gain any praise, let it go to Calvary. For with his love he saved me by his power he raised me to God be the glory for the things that he has done. And I think that's. That's the attitude we've got to have about ourselves. And by the way, there's certainly nothing wrong with praising people and honoring people, in an appropriate way, because Lord knows we. We've got some people who have served us so well. And. And I have no problem with honoring those folks. But you're right. You're right, Rose. There does come a point where you just kind of. You want to be wary of it going to the point where we're honoring and praising an individual over the God who used that person. so, point well taken, Rose. And I think words for us all to take to heart. And that is, again, no disrespect at all meant to Charlie Kirk or the people around him. But I think it does sound a note of caution as we can get caught up in the frenzy, and begin to cross over into a little bit of an idolatry, which. Which we want to guard against at all costs. The numbers 8 8, 8, 5, 8, 9, 8, 8, 4, 0.
Of no compromise as we get ready for Christmas
I've only got a couple of minutes here. Let me come back to this theme, though. This. This. This theme of. Of no compromise as we get ready for Christmas. You know, Remember Jesus said before his crucifixion, satan is coming, but he has nothing in me. Well, I love that statement. You say he has nothing in me. In other words, he's got no hook. He's got nothing he can point to. Say, ah, but don't forget, you know. Yeah, there's. I. I know this about you, and you did this or you did that, or you nothing. And I know you and I are not Jesus, and we are not perfect. And all of us have made mistakes. Every single one of us has made mistakes. We've said. We. We've thought, said, and done things that we knew we know we shouldn't have done before we were saved and after we were saved, by the way. But that should be the standard for our lives, shouldn't it? Yes, Satan may come, but he'll find nothing in me. So that we live uncompromising lives. And that doesn't mean we're blocks of ice. And that doesn't mean we're cold or. That does. And that certainly doesn't mean we're holier than thou and looking down our noses at other people. My goodness gracious. That's the last thing in the world we need. But it means that we know the standard that God has set, and we're going to endeavor with all of our hearts to meet that standard. And people can like it and they can lump it. They can. They can praise us for it, they can hate us for it. But. But that's where we are, and that's where we have to stand. I said, for example, I have to keep bringing this as an example because to me, it's so relevant. I Said if, for example, if I voted for a homosexual for lieutenant governor and the next talking to some person who claims to be a Christian is a Democrat, and I say, well, how could you vote for this person? And they say, well, I didn't necessarily agree with everything about that person, but I voted for them because they're going to do social justice, they're going to do racial justice, and they give you this litany of things. So I kind of put that to the side. And then they say to me, didn't you do the same thing? You say homosexuality is sin. You say it's an abomination to God. But you voted for a homosexual when push came to shove because you thought that that was the best thing to do and it was better than the. See now, now I'm stuck. What can I say? But well, folks, as always, it's a pleasure, it's an honor to be with you all. I love you. Please pray for me because I'm praying for all of you. Praying for this audience. Of course, I don't know every one of you individually, so have a very, very merry Christmas. I'll be back with you tomorrow, by the way. In the meantime, stand up, step up, up, speak up. And refuse to back up because we cannot be defeated if we will not quit because we are on God's side.
