Jenna Ellis talks with Ed Vitagliano about Sharathon
Jenna Ellis: Good morning. It is Tuesday, April 7th and this is our day one of Sharathon. I'm Jenna Ellis here, here with Ed Vitagliano this morning instead of Tim Wildmon who usually joins me for Sharathon. So, some big shoes to fill or maybe a, a big page boy hat to fill their Ed. But good morning and you know, what a great theme that we have. And I was reminded as I was reading it this morning that this actually is the same verse that was, was basically Preached by Ah, Captain Glover who is on the Artemis 2 that just made that amazing loop around the moon going further than any human has ever gone. And before they went into that 40, minutes of silence around the dark side of the moon, he was talking about this, saying that Jesus said that love your God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind. This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it, love your neighbor as yourself. And what an amazing moment yesterday.
Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, good morning Jenna. I was saying this on today's issues yesterday because we were talking about Artemis 2 and I just thought and said this is unbelievable, the age in which we are living. I've been listening to some podcasts, I like history. So I've been listening to some podcasts by a couple of historians where they were talking about the discovery, Columbus, the discovery of the NewSong World and then, you know, the conquests of the Aztecs and the Incas and all that newness, right here on our planet. And yet here we have individuals, I think it's three Americans, one Canadian. the Canadian's probably the nice person, you know, on board there, the polite person, and they're going around the dark side of the moon further than anyone has gone before. There are plans on the drawing board for, you know, a base on the moon and maybe going to Mars. And it's just mind blowing. This is all stuff that used to be in the realm only of science fiction. and we are alive to see it. plenty of negative things going on, but it's amazing the gifts and abilities that God has bestowed on humanity. Made in the image of God.
Jenna Ellis: Ah, so well said. And it is really incredible and to see these types of discoveries. And the more that we can learn about the world around us and our natural universe, the more that it points toward a creator and. And seeing the vastness of the universe and seeing how small by comparison, the Earth is. And we are in it and thinking about what we just celebrated this past Sunday. That, you know, God loves us and even knows that we're here, and he created us and cares and. And loves us enough that he sent, his son to die so that we could have a reconciled relationship with him. I mean, when you. When you look at the awe and the wonder of what's going on with Artemis, and you put it in context of the power and the awe of God, our creator, I mean, it's just. It's just so amazing. And I don't understand, Ed, how anybody could look at those images and not say, there is a God. And I know that he must love us.
Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. you know, it's fascinating. When you open your heart to Jesus and you open your mind to receive God's word with faith, you begin to understand. When you think about human beings, we are the only creature on the face of the planet that has the ability to think about something, to dream about something, to have an idea and then create it in the real world. I think about people who have talents like art. You know, they're painters, they're musicians, they're, carpenters, they're scientists. Like, we're seeing the fruit of their work. But they're able to take an idea and in a body which God has given them, make it real. to paint something that was in their mind or to build. You know, you talk about Elon Musk. He's, as far as I know, not a Christian, but he's made in the image of God. He gets these ideas and he puts things together and they fly, they go to the. They go to space. They, you know, go to the deepest parts of our solar system. And yet there are people who say, well, we're just animals. Animals like every. Like every other. Like, we're like badgers. We're like. We're. We're an advanced, species. No real different than a chimpanzee or an armadillo. It's ludicrous. The. The giftings that God has put into human beings. And to look at that and then to say, ah, ah, we're not much different than any other creature on the face of the earth, like you said, it's mind boggling. But it is also true from Romans one that human beings with these great abilities can also suppress the knowledge of the truth in unrighteousness. They're protecting something, that they don't want to surrender to God. And God says that means they're without excuse.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, absolutely. And you know, even comparing humans to animals, it's like still the, the chimpanzee and the, you know, the, the zebra and all of these other animals are amazing creatures. And there's no way that you can look at that and think, oh, that just happened by chance, or there was no design behind it. And even though, yes, we are the, the highest of the beings because we are made in the image of God and we are distinct from the animal kingdom. Even the animal kingdom is incredible and amazing. And so for who are wanting to diminish the power of creation around us that points to a creator, they are, they're suppressing the truth and unrighteousness. And this is all.
American Family Radio relies on pledges of donors to keep the airwaves operational
I love talking about all of this, Ed, which is what we get to do every morning. Talk about, you know, these headlines, these amazing things like Artemis, and their discoveries, but talk about them from a biblical worldview perspective. And that's because, as Tim Wildmon always says, we are un. Cancelable here, on American Family Radio, which is because of the pledges of donors during Sharathon. And we only do this, twice a year. And we're so grateful for everyone who keeps us on the airwaves. If you would like to call in with a pledge, that phone number is 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. We have some amazing people standing or sitting by ready to talk to you. And if you'd prefer, if you're, you know, on your way to work, you're in a hurry and you just to go online, you can go to afr.net and also, Ed, we have something this hour, called a 10,000 ready, set, go challenge. Well, what is that?
Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, well, so what happens is that people, people, do give to our share a thon in advance. And so we, there's $10,000 set aside. And so it becomes a challenge that is issued to our listeners to meet that $10,000. And you know, we were talking about Genesis, A, few moments ago about how God has created us in his image and we have gifts and we have callings. Well, almost 50 years ago a young Methodist preacher, Donald Wildmon, was called by God to start this ministry. And that was in 1977 as he got to 1991. And he began to feel a kind of a holy calling to create a radio network because it was very difficult at the time to get a Christian based message out because the mainstream media had a lockdown on it. It was only a secular worldview that was allowed. And Brother Don said, you know what, we're going to circumvent that. And now we have American Family Radio, 180 stations and I think 36 different states where the message of the gospel can go out. Folks, this is an extraordinary moment in time when the gospel in this country is still allowed to be preached and people can be taught the a Christian worldview based on scriptural ideas and scriptural principles. But we need you here at American Family Radio because twice a year we have a Share a Thon three days in the spring, three days in the fall. This is our spring Share a Thon. The theme is love God, love people. Jenna shared the scripture verse for 20:26 for our spring share a thon Matthew 22 verses 37 through 40. So it is our spring Share a Thon. The number to call if you would like to pledge, to support this ministry. By the way, the, the people here who are listening when you're, you're listening right now to AFR, to Jenna Ellis's show. That's because six months ago in the fall 2025 share a THON people gave to keep us on the air. So that's why we talk about partnering with our supporters to keep AFR on the air. The number to call is 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. You can give safely and securely online if you want to. Tim always says if you don't like talking to people, we understand that you can, you can go [email protected] and give securely there.
Spring Share a Thon premium for constitutional attorneys is $150
Jenna, if you don't mind, I know I'm talking yakking a little bit, but I'd like to just talk about the Spring Share a Thon premium for a one time gift of $150 or more. You will receive a five pack of the 250th, 250th anniversary pocket constitution. I want to get your take in a Minute here, Jenna, about the Constitution. Your constitutional attorney, one time gift of $150 or more. You receive a five pack of the 250th anniversary pocket constitution. These are very popular. Jenna Ellis: Pocket Constitution contains everything that governs the United States
Again, we are in a $10,000 ready, set, go challenge. Are you up to the challenge to meet that $10,000? Jenna, you, I, I've known you for a long time. You, you love scripture. You also love the Constitution. Obviously not on the same level. You love the Constitution for the freedoms it provides for us. this is a pretty cool little pocket constitution.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, it is. And you know, it's so amazing how the entire, law that governs the United States fits in your pocket. Now, that's not true. If you look at the Supreme Court, rulings and the volumes and volumes of statutory law and everything that has, been passed in, allegedly in furtherance of the Constitution. But this is so important that we know what this little booklet contains, because this is actually everything that, that all of those opinions, all of those other laws have to adhere to. So this is basically the rulebook, I like to say, Ed. it's like if you've ever played Monopoly and you know, you know that you have to, when you go and you pass go, you collect $200. You know, if you land on a property, you know, you know the rules of the game, right? And so you know how to best guide your particular piece to hopefully put it in the best possible, advantage to win based on knowing the rules that govern monopoly. If you try to play monopoly based on the rules of chess, well, you know, you, you would, you wouldn't be able to play the game. And so this is the same thing for Christians. We have to understand our rule book. We have to understand what governs us in this country. And, and it's not Sharia law. It's not, you know, the, the laws that govern Canada. Thankfully, it's not European law. It's the American Constitution. And we have to know It. So this is an amazing opportunity, for you to get that pocket constitution, you know, take it out while you're sitting in the doctor's office, the waiting room, you know, whatever, instead of your phone. So call 877-616-2396. We're gonna have to take a break here, and I think we're gonna listen to, a listener testimony, here, Adam. And, Also, let's call 877-616-2396 with your best pledge today. You can also go [email protected] so I'm Jenna Ellis.

Jenna Ellis: Sharathon focuses on biblical worldview in today's headlines
Jenna Ellis: Back to day one of, Sharathon. I'm Jenna Ellis here with Ed Vitagliano. And we're so excited that you are with us and so grateful for our AFR family that keeps us on the airwave so we can talk about the things of truth, we can talk about the news of the day, what's going on in the world. we can talk about theology and culture, and we can talk about all of this from a biblical worldview perspective that's so important in today's, just the insanity of all of the headlines. We need to have a fixed point of reference, which, of course is the truth of the word of God. And I love Ed. this verse and this scripture, we're talking before the break about, knowing our. Our constitution, our law of the land in the United States. And, you know, this verse is talking about all of the law and the prophets, in Old Testament Israel. And, you know, this was in response, Jesus was replying to the Pharisees, because as we start this verse in Matthew 22, verse 37, it says Jesus replied, well, who was he replying to? The Pharisees, because they thought they could trip him up. And they asked him which is the greatest commandment. They were trying to force him to elevate one law over another. And Create controversy. And so he responded. And he doesn't pick one. He picks two that are inseparable. And when he says, and, all the law and the prophets hang on these two commandments. He's talking about how every rule, command and moral law isn't random. This flows from true, genuine love. That God, loves us. We need to love him with all our heart and all our soul, and also love our neighbor as ourselves. And that love and moral law is properly ordered. And what an amazing thing that we can think about this morning.
Ed Vitagliano: Absolutely. And you're right. These two are inseparable. because, you know, the Apostle John, for example, in 1 John, I think it's, chapter three, the apostle John says, if you hate your brother, the love of God, the love of the Father, is not in you. I mean, these are hard sayings, but it's kind of like, a cold slap in the face to wake people up from the blindness that we so often enter into. There's a lot of hatred in our country, lot of division. And Jesus Christ is the answer to that anger, that bitterness, that hostility. he. He is the answer to that. But you can't, I was listening sometimes when I'm working around the house, working in the yard, I have my Spotify playlist. And a, lot of times we'll listen to 70s music. It's just happy music just to get. Get the blood flowing.
Jenna Ellis: So your average Spotify age is like 87. Is that what you're telling me when you do Spotify Wrapped? Because that was about me. That was me.
Ed Vitagliano: Well, I was listening to this song, Love Train. I don't know if you remember this. Come on the Love Train. And.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, yeah. I mean, I wasn't alive then, but I mean, so I don't remember it,
Ed Vitagliano: but I know it just keep going. Jenna. we all know I'm, So. But when I was listening to that. I don't listen to these songs uncritically. I was listening, and I was thinking, you know what? It's a great sentiment for, people to love one another, get on that love train. But it is very difficult, probably impossible, unless you have the love of God in your heart. This is the. You can promise to love other people who are different than you, that you've had arguments with or disagreements with. But unless you love God first, and unless you come to a saving relationship with God through Jesus Christ and have had your heart renovated and changed by the Holy Spirit, you can only want to love other people. The way we're supposed to love them. So you said it. You're spot on. We love God. The challenge is to love him with all our hearts, with all our soul and all our mind. That is the first and the greatest. But flowing out of that is not only, the, the willingness to love other people, but the power to love other people as well. And then all those other commandments instruct us as to what that looks like. What does it look like to love your neighbor? Well, the Bible is filled with, with. You don't lie about them, you don't slander them, you don't steal from them. You certainly don't murder them. You don't murder unborn babies. So all of those other commandments are instructions as to what it looks like to love your neighbor as yourself. And listen, the folks who pray about our theme for each share a thon. We have folks here who do that, connected to our radio network and radio department. They picked a good one on this one, Jenna. Matthew 22, verses 37 through 40.
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, it's. And it's so true. And I was thinking, as you were saying, Ed, that, you know, without loving God first with all our heart, soul and mind, then it's impossible to truly love other people because then it's just contingent on our whim of emotion. We can say we want to love other people, but it only goes as far as we will. And as. As long as it serves our interests, as long as we are. Feel generous or philanthropic or maybe humanitarian, even if we get to, you know, those kind of big, lofty ideals. But fundamentally, people without God, without a regenerated heart and mind and soul, that is filled with the Holy Spirit, we are fundamentally evil and selfish. And we see that in the law that we promulgate, that's after our selfish whims and desires and adults, ah, pleasure seeking, I mean, things like abortions. We want to, you know, to, to just, fulfill the. All of those adult conveniences instead of understanding what it truly means to love every human being that's made in the image of God and recognizing with our mind how they have inherent dignity and worth and following that. And so it's. It's just so incredibly important. And this is why, the teaching of scripture and connecting it to policy, to cultural topics, to news of the day is so important. And that's why I love getting up every morning, during the week and being able to talk about all of this on American Family Radio Network. It's just such a wonderful ministry.
Ed Vitagliano: Yeah. And, folks, that's what we do here on American Family Radio.
American Family Radio is raising funds for its upcoming Share a Thon
What you're hearing. The discussion that Jenna, and I are having is about, the critical importance of our relationship with God through Jesus Christ, the scripture. And out of that flows the ideas that drove our, Founding Fathers and the founding of this nation and the Constitution, Declaration of Independence. These are all ideas that flow from a scriptural understanding of the world. And so that's what we do here on American Family Radio. And that's why twice a year, three days in the spring, three days in the fall, we have a Share a Thon. We give you the opportunity to give to this ministry, and we invite you to do that. The number to call if you'd like to give to our spring Share a thon. The theme is love God, love people. The number to call is 877-616-2396. Help us to continue to do what we're doing right now. What Jenna does every weekday, which she does with her podcast, she's written a book about the ideas forming a moral constitution. Those kinds of things that you can hear 24 hours a day, seven days a week, are, only aired because folks like you give to this ministry. 877-616-2396. We have folks who are here early here this morning who are waiting to take your call down at Charathon Central, just about 25 yards down the hallway. And, if you want to give, online, you can do that as well safely and [email protected] that's afr.net we do have a $10,000 ready, set, go challenge, for the remainder of Jenna's, show today. So that's $10,000 that has been set aside from gifts that people have given as a challenge to listeners to meet that during this hour. 877-616-2396. Jenna, what, what is the, the title of your book? some folks might be interested since we're talking about a, moral framework for the world and the Constitution. what's the. What's the title of your book?
Jenna Ellis: Yeah, so it's titled the Legal Basis for a Moral Constitution. And I wrote this, it's been over 10 years ago now, which is crazy. So I'm due for, for another book, I think, at least, you know, and I'm actually in the middle of writing one. it's coming along kind of slowly, but. But this one, you know, this was 10 years ago, kind of at the beginning of, where God was changing my ministry and coming from practicing lawful time to wanting to getting into teaching the biblical worldview and the apologetic of law. And so this this book was really my initial opportunity to, to provide to to the greater Christian community especially but also you know, anyone who reads, but especially Christians, a depth of understanding of our Constitution in context, how we can advocate for moral law, how we are a Christian nation, and understanding that pocket constitution that you'll get if you if you pledge today at 877-616-2396. understanding what that contains and how you can advocate not just for. Well, I want pro life policies, to be the law of the land or I want to have laws that are built on a Judeo Christian worldview, but that is actually what our Constitution requires. And so the book is titled the Legal Basis for a Moral Constitution. And you know, Ed, I went and spoke at an event up in Spokane, Washington, a GOP conference a couple of weeks ago. And I was kind of going through my testimony there and you know, talking about actually the start of you know, that, that book and kind of that inception of wanting to teach in ministry and then how you know, God kind of brought me full circle. I had the opportunity obviously to go to D.C. work for President Trump and then after that, you know, do a few other things. But then basically you know, came home. In my view of it, God brought me to the place that I had been praying for, which was to have a ministry that I could teach and reach a lot of people with the truth about law, ah, and the biblical worldview. And that's exactly what I get to do every day at American Family Radio Network. And I love talking about my book because I feel like that was the first time that I said, okay, Lord, I'm putting this out there, I'm going to be faithful. Because this is really what I want to do, what I feel called to in my ministry. And I was praying for this and to see that really come to fruition, being able to be here at American Family Radio Network. I know so many people have been praying for this radio network long before I came on. but then people also have been praying for me when they, when you saw me, you know, with ah, President Trump and all that. And to, to actually come together with AFR has been such a blessing in my life. And I'm so grateful for everyone who donates to this ministry because you're, you are enabling me to fulfill My calling to the Lord, which is to teach the truth. And I love, this quote from Pastor John MacArthur that he says, if there's anything you want to define your ministry, it's speaking the truth in love. And I'm just so grateful because that's what I get to do every morning. So thank you to all of our listeners who make these pledges who, enable us to have the ministry that God has called us to. I know Ed, feels the same way about being here at AFR. And so 877-616-2396. You can, pledge and support us. Keep us on air 877-616-2396 or go [email protected] and I think we have a listener testimony as well that we can, listen to now.
: M. Yes, this is Mary from Chattanooga, Tennessee. I've really enjoyed listening to your program on the radio and praying along with those, during the prayer sharings for, needs for prayer and also for your Trivia Friday, Learning University as well as many of your other programs that you have on as well, David Jeremiah to, Family Soccer, James Dobson, as well as Jan, Markell with Understanding Times. I really appreciate ministry and all that you guys do to encourage us, journey and grow in learning more about faith, God and the Bible. Thank you.
Jenna Ellis: Amazing. And Ed, he mentioned, the Trivia Friday, which you're a part of, and that's a great part of your ministry as well.
Ed Vitagliano: Yeah, we have a lot of fun on, Friday. Excuse me. I took a bite of a biscuit during the testimony, and I was thinking, hey, keep going, brother. Whatever you're saying, keep talking. yeah, I'm on Today's Issues with Tim Wildmon. It's, the flagship program for American Family Radio. I co host with Tim. He's the. He's the host. And Monday through Thursday, we talk about. Tim jokes around. He says we talk about the end of the world, and then on Fridays, we pretend like it's not going to happen. So we have. We have a lot of fun. It's a Trivia show. J.J. jasper is also one of the co hosts. On Friday, we cut up. We have, we joke around, we interact with our listeners, and it's a lot of fun. And, you know, people, it's great working here. Jenna, you've been here many, many times in person. it's a great group of people to work with. We have a lot of fun. Even though we deal with serious and sober issues, the fact that it is flowing out of hearts that have been changed by Jesus. And we're doing this out of love for God and in answer to a calling you were talking about. Your calling gives us great joy. We have a great deal of joy here, even though, like I said, the subject matter can be, pretty grim at times. But folks, this is the kind of programs like Jenna's and others on American Family Radio are the, the. The reason for the existence of American Family Radio. It is to get the gospel out. It is to get good, solid Bible teaching out. We have preaching programs. Brother Bert Harper was on the previous hour with Fred Jackson. He's on, Bert Harper is on with Alex McFarland in the middle of the afternoon for exploring the Word. So we have those explicit preaching and teaching programs, but we also have programming that talks about the issues of the day from a biblical, perspective, with the light of the scriptures shining down and illuminating the way in which we should behave. And, so you get a good variety, of programming here at American Family Radio. We want to keep it going. And that's why we have the Spring Share a thon. It is our love.
We are in the midst of a $10,000 Ready, Set, Go challenge

If you want to give to our Share a Thon, we are in the midst, here for the next 20 minutes at least. we are in the midst of a $10,000 Ready, Set, Go challenge. Jenna Ellis and Ed Vitagliano taking pledges for American Family Radio
Jenna Ellis and Ed Vitagliano here, taking your pledges and, really grateful for your support and keeping us on the air. And, just, you know, we do this with joy. And I love what you said, Ed, because, it's so true that as dark as this world will get for the Christian, that's as bad as it's ever going to get. And we have the hope and the joy and the promise and the expectation of one day being with Christ. Christ, whether he returns or calls us home in our lifetime, we know that we have that security. And, that's why we can have joy and have fun in the midst of all of the headlines. And I love, getting to do that with everyone at the, American Family Association. So we will be right back with more.
: Jesus told us to love God with all our heart, soul and mind and to love our neighbors as ourselves. It's Share a Thon, on American Family Radio. Call 877-616-2396 or give [email protected] make your pledge and help us love God and love people during shareathon.
Jenna Ellis: Success for the Christian is not how the world defines success
Jenna Ellis: We are back with day one of Sharathon. I'm Jenna Ellis here with Ed Vitagliano. And, it was really amazing, in the break, listening to a couple of those, testimonies. And, you know, the one gentleman who is saying that here at afa, you know, there are successful Christians. And I thought about that for a second, Ed, because I thought, you know, success for the Christian is not at all how the world defines success. And when we're talking, before the break about having such joy in the midst of, you know, all of the negativity in the world, the crazy headlines, you know, everything else that we have to talk about every day, you know, for the Christian, having joy in spite of all of our circumstances is because success is not measured in the way that the world measures it. For the Christian, being faithful to the calling and the ministry, to promote the truth of the gospel of Christ, that's success for the Christian. So every day, when we get to wake up and be on air and teach the truth of God to, you know, the millions of people who tune in every day, here at American Family Radio Network, that's success on God's terms. And it's so true that, you know, the devil hates that kind of success. And so for people who are participating in giving to this ministry, you're participating in success on how God defines it.
Ed Vitagliano: Absolutely. I heard a preacher many, many years ago, maybe close to 30 years ago. so again, Jenna, almost before you were born kind of thing, because this is what old people, how old people talk. but I remember this preacher saying that our outward lives are like the scaffolding around a building. A lot of. A lot of us have seen a building going up, and you see the scaffolding around workmen's, working, workmen's workmen, and work women working outside and, and finishing the building. And this preacher was saying that that's our outward life. That that is, you know, how we look, how we dress, our worries about our bank account, all those things that are important. But the point was that what is actually being built, okay, if our outward lives, our circumstances, if you will, if that is the scaffolding around the building, what's the building? And the building is that the inner man is being conformed to the image of Christ and that can never be destroyed. God has already said we're not going to enter into judgment. And we are, granted eternal life through faith in Jesus Christ. And now our task is to become like Jesus. Yes, we may express that outwardly and in this world through our bodies. When we speak, when we do acts of kindness and charity, when we share the gospel, we open our mouths and we, we, we tell people about Jesus. We open our mouths and sing praises to God. Yes, we impact the natural world, but inside is where the real work is being done. And though our circumstances may change, though our circumstances sometimes are very trying, I'm guessing that just the odds are that among our listeners right now, listening right now, there are people whose loved ones are, going through surgery for some sickness or disease, maybe have a parent who is suffering from Alzheimer's, maybe there is marriage trouble out there, all those kinds of circumstances. Yet the soul of the Christian is anchored by the faithfulness of God and the promises of God that he is working inwardly in us. Though our outer man is decaying, Paul says, the inner man is being strengthened day by day. So folks, this is the kind of teaching and biblical, values that you get on American Family Radio. We are in the midst of our Spring Share a Thon. The theme is love God, Love people. The number to call if you would like to give to American Family Radio, keeping us on the air for the next six months so that when we hit Fall Share a Thon people will have been listening because of your generosity and your generous gifts. Here's the Number to call, 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. There are folks waiting to take your call right now to get your information. You can give safely and securely [email protected] and I do want to mention the Spring Share A Thon premiums. For a one time gift of $150 or more, you will receive a five pack of the 250th Anniversary Pocket Constitution. This is a slick little like it says pocket Constitution. Jenna mentioned that you're sitting waiting at the dentist's office or the doctor's office or some office. You can read the constitution and remind yourself of the way our government works. So you get a five pack of that so you can give some away to friends or family, co workers, what have you. or if you become a great commission partner with a monthly gift of $30 or more, you will receive not only the five pack of the pocket Constitution, but you will also receive a five pack of the special 250th in God we Trust wristbands. These are cool little wristbands. You put them on, keep a couple in your pocket or near at hand. If someone says, I like that, you can share it, give them one, give one away to somebody. So that is the, the number to call again is 877-616-2396. We have about nine minutes, just a little bit under nine minutes of our $10,000 ready, set, go challenge. we are encourage you to meet that amount our listeners here on the Jenna Ellis show, our hour here. so we're asking you to give 877-616-2396.
Jenna Ellis: Yes. And the other thing that you can give away even without giving when we hope that you give but the other way for our regular listeners and you know regular monthly donors if you've already been giving to afr you thank you so much. You can also give away our free app. so if you go to whether you have Android or Apple and you go in to your app store, download the AFR app and encourage a young person in your life as well. because there are so many different opportunities that young people have to get their news from a variety of sources and there are definitely better places than others to receive the news and cultural perspective and and training. And we've seen you know, some of the bad examples of some of these podcasters and you know, some of these people who are ah, promoting just terribly false worldviews, false religions and so for young people to be able to have a network and a resource that you can trust that you know that we will always be teaching from m a biblical worldview, perspective, training up our listeners in an understanding of the biblical worldview, our app is so important. And I know for for people who are outside of our radio network radius, that's often how they listen. I know my parents who are in Colorado who don't have a network, ah, station, ah, real close to them. That's how they tune in. and they can listen to my show after it airs. They can, listen to Trivia Friday. My dad loves listening to the guys. Ed, you and Tim, he, he considers you guys, you know, some of the bros. It's great. so the app is really important. And so, when you donate as well, you're keeping our app in the app Store, keeping us online as well. So thank you again for your pledges. 877-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396. Or you can go online and give, as Ed, said, safely and securely at afr. And Ed, you know, it's so important, especially for the next generation, to not just look at, the, the headlines and politics in the news from a conservative or maybe capitalist perspective. Like, that's good, but that's not the full picture. It has to be built. Our view of the world has to be built on the foundation of the truth of the word of God.
Ed Vitagliano: absolutely. Well said. And, you know, you can get, you can get liberal ideas and conservative ideas and, speaking in a classical sense of classical liberalism and classical conservatism, you can get those ideas. I have, I have no problem with people who are concerned for the poor. Okay, that, that is a. If you want to call it a liberal idea, I don't care. But that's a scriptural idea idea. Now how you go about doing that becomes, an issue of, you know, wisdom and politics. But we must get our ideas from the scripture. And when we were talking about the, the theme of this.
Ed: It's not enough to be politically conservative if your ideas are anti biblical
Shareathon. Love God, Love people. If there are some out there who are, who are, listening to this program and, and you are on the liberal side of the political aisle, let me encourage you to seek God's wisdom, that impulse that you have to care for those who are afflicted and those who are struggling to make ends meet. That comes from the image of God. I believe if you're genuinely concerned about people, seek the source of. Of that compassion. It's God. It's just from. This is from God, his compassion for the poor in Old Testament and NewSong Testament. And then we can discuss how it. How best to meet the needs of those people. But drink from the original spring and fountain, which are the scriptures, and to seek the heart of God. So out of that love, you can love people and the ideas of conservatives. Jenna, you said it so well. It's not enough to be politically conservative if your ideas for what you want to see done are anti biblical. So your conservative ideas need to be sharpened. They need to be seen also from the lens of scripture. So, in a lot of ways, right wing, left wing, the whole bird is sick. Okay, folks? Because too many in politics have departed from scripture and from the God who created us. And that's why when we talk about loving God, loving people, when we talk on afr, yes, sometimes we talk politics, a lot of times we talk politics. But we also always exhort people to get to the word of God and a relationship with God through Jesus Christ because that's the only way your political ideas are going to be pleasing to him.
Jenna Ellis: That's so, so true. And that we have to have a comprehensive, worldview and understanding of why do we have certain political perspectives? Why do we think that, you know, capitalism is, the best form of the economy? I mean, why do we think that, and is that accurate? You know, why do we, why do we call ourselves conservatives? What does that actually mean? We have to have the foundation before we can then go up into the policy. And so this is why, everything that we do here at American Family Radio Network, from the teaching of the word of God, to the shows that break down the news of the day and the headlines, you know, to all of the other things that we, we do here on our radio network, it's, it's a full package of of truth and of renewing your mind and and understanding the times, really. So, Ed, thanks so much for being my co host for the three days of Share a Thon so far.
Ed Vitagliano: Absolutely.
Jenna Ellis: yeah, it's been so much fun. So call, in just, you have about 60 seconds left in this hour. Call 887-7-616-2396. That's 877-616-2396 or go online to afr.net and thank you. Thank you so much for your generous donations, for your prayer and for your support for our network.
