My name is Abraham Hamilton, III and this is The Hamilton Minute.

Gross domestic product (GDP) is a monetary measure of the market value of all final goods and services produced in a time period.

The oft-quoted refrain from the Obama administration was that 2% GDP growth was the “new normal” for the American economy and that we should just get used to it.

Well… that was flat wrong!

The U.S. economy exploded in the second quarter of 2018, with the GDP climbing 4.1% -- nearly doubling the 2.2% 1st quarter growth.

Wage increases, however, would put an exclamation point on this economic resurgence!
