A new bio-pic on Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life and legal career titled “On the Basis of Sex” is set to be released on Christmas Day.
However a huge factual error revealed in the trailer encapsulates Ginsburg’s judicial philosophy.
Her character stands before a male judge who says “the word ‘woman’ does not appear in the U.S. Constitution.”
Ginsburg responds: “Nor does the word ‘freedom’ your honor.”
Well, “freedom” is smack dab in the middle of the 1st Amendment.
Much like her judicial career, her movie’s writers find the actual verbiage of the Constitution… irrelevant.
