“And we have seen his glory, glory as of the only Son from the Father, full of grace and truth.” John 1:14(b).

“By mercy and truth iniquity is purged” (Proverbs 16:6).
Love “does not rejoice at wrongdoing, but rejoices with the truth” (1 Corinthians 13:6).
Anyone notice a pattern here? Grace, mercy, and love all require truth. It is unloving to conceal or side step truth. Often, people avoid truth and use love as a justification when in reality their truth-aversion is a self-preservation tactic.
You cannot claim to love someone and simultaneously affirm them in a lie.
The absence of truth nullifies the application of grace.
