“Before Him goes pestilence, And plague comes after Him.” Habakkuk 3:5 (NASB95).
My name is Abraham Hamilton, III and this is The Hamilton Minute.
In spite of Dr. Fraudci perjurious testimony to the contrary, President Trump signed an executive order banning federal funding for gain-of-function research. The order also pauses certain domestic research involving infectious pathogens and toxins until safer, more transparent policy is developed.
It aims to reduce the risk of lab-related incidents, like those associated with the Schmovid pandemic, but it doesn’t hinder U.S. innovation in biotechnology.
But, as we’ve seen, executive orders are no way to establish enduring government policies. In order to make this order stick beyond the current Trump administration, Congress must get off it is duff and codify the order.
