Jeff Chamblee Welcome to Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve, Senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Now, here's Pastor Jeff.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, good Tuesday morning and welcome to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. Hope that you're having a good morning. It is such beautiful weather right now in Texarkana, Texas, and we just praise God for that. Wanted to read to you first Jon, chapter four. the apostle Jon says this, beginning in verse one. Beloved, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. Because many false prophets have gone out into the world. By this you know the spirit of God. Every spirit that confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God. And every spirit that does not confess Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of Antichrist of which you have heard that is coming. And now it is already in the world. You are from God, little children, and have overcome them. Because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. They are from the world, therefore they speak as from the world and the world, listens to them. We are from God. He who knows God listens to us. He who is not from God does not listen to us. By this we know the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. Listen, the devil is the. Jesus said he is a liar and the father of lies. The book I wrote that came out some months ago was, all about, I called it the Devil's Newsroom. And it's all about the devil lying to people and exposing the lies with the truth of the word of God. You know, when you shine the light of the Word of God on the devil's lies. Then you see them for what they are. But now the devil is not. He is not one liar among, a multitude of liars. He's not a good liar. He's not even the best liar. He's the father of lies. All lies originate from the devil. And he tells lies in order to get his evil, devilish work done. Because if he told you the truth, you wouldn't follow him. so all temptation, the Bible says in James 1, each one is tempted when he's carried away and enticed by his own lusts. And then when lust is conceived, it gives birth to sin. And when sin is accomplished, it brings forth death. Think about the Garden of Eden. Think about what would have happened if the devil had come to Eve not as an angel of light, because the Bible says he disguises himself as an angel of light. If he had come without his mask on, without his disguise on, and he, let her see him for what he truly is. And he told her, I want you to eat of this fruit because I want to curse the world through you and through Adam. I want to plunge the world into sin and death and darkness and depravity and decay and, ultimately take the world to hell. If he had told her that, do you think she would have eaten? Of course not. So what does he do? He lies about it. He says, oh, Eve, listen, if you eat of that fruit, you're not going to die. No, no. God knows in the day you eat of it, your eyes will be open, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. And God is holding out on you, Eve. And here's the good stuff. I'm giving you the straight scoop. Here is the good stuff. You eat of that fruit, and then you won't need to depend upon God, because you can your own God. That is the heart of sin. It's wanting to do what you want to do, wanting to be your own boss, wanting to be the captain of your own ship. I want what I want when I want it, and ain't nobody going to tell me what to do. That attitude, that is sin. And God hates that. He's opposed to the proud. He gives grace to the humble. So Jon is warning. Peter warned us about false teachers. Jon warned us about false teachers. And, Paul warned us about false teachers. Those that come and preach. Another Jesus whom we have not preached. Don't believe every spirit, test the spirits. And just know that many false prophets have gone out into the world. And so it's incumbent upon Christians that we're able to discern between good and evil, that we're able to listen to someone and recognize if he is from God or if he is from the devil, to recognize the spirit of truth and the spirit of error. We have so many who call themselves Christians who are so easily duped because they're not discerning. And, the reason they're not discerning is they're not spending time in the word of God. The Bible makes that clear. Hebrews, chapter five, it talks about, you know, by this time, some of you should be teachers, but you have need again of someone to teach you the elementary principles of the oracles of God. And you have come to need milk and not solid food. You're still on the bottle. You're still like a little baby. You can't feed yourself. And, you know, so you need to grow with respect to salvation. Solid food is for the mature who, because of practice, have their senses trained to discern good and evil. To discern good. kalos and evil. Kakos. You've heard me say that before. Those are those two Greek words, kalos and kakos. Now, they're very similar. One letter off, K, A, K, O, S. K A L, O, S. K, A L, O, S. Kallos is what is good, what is beautiful, and kakos is what is evil. And so you have to have your senses trained so that you can discern between those two and so that you can hear someone, whether it's a preacher or whether it's a politician who claims to be a Christian and claims to walk with God. You look at what they say, you look at what they support. you look at, obviously Jesus said, you know them by their fruits. Now, when you do that, then you say, wait a minute, you say this, you claim this, but you are doing that. You are supporting that, and this and that go together. So we have today in Texarkana, and then, this evening in Tyler, the, bus tour for the Senate. candidate James Talarico. He's the Democratic candidate for the Senate in Texas, and he's got a, clear eyes, full hearts tour that's taking place that comes from Friday Night Lights. clear, eyes, full hearts, can't lose. And it's kind of ironic that he would choose that, that football theme. He doesn't surely doesn't look like a football player. Ever played football. I think he was on the debate team, I had read. And, doesn't look like a football fan. you know, he's just not. He's just not a rugged guy. And no knock against him. Not everybody has, you know, ruggedness about them. But he looks kind of like, you know, Richie Cunningham, Opie Taylor, Howdy Doody, that kind of feel. And he presents himself as, I'm a Christian. Now, you have to evaluate that claim. Just because someone claims to be a Christian doesn't mean they're a Christian. So you have to go by the Bible's definition. What does the Bible say about a Christian? Don't believe every spirit, Jon says, but test the spirits. So we want to put James Talarico and his claim of Christianity to the test. Now, I have made it plain. I did this on Facebook just a couple of days ago and got a lot of response from that, but that Talarico is a fake Christian. I believe what Josh Howerton says. He wears Christianity like a skin suit. you know, you just put this on and you say, oh, I'm a Christian because, I've. I go to church and I've been, to seminary. Well, he goes to a Progressive Presbyterian Church. That's what it says on their website. We're Presbyterian and progressive, and our first allegiance is to Christ's gospel of universal love. so they're accepting of everybody. You know, if you want to become a member of Saint Andrews Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas, where James Talarico was, is a member, has been a member for a long time. He said his pastor, Jim Rigby, is his pastor in every sense of the word. Well, membership in that church, membership, this is, I wrote it down from their website. Membership is open to all and not weighed down by vows, obligations, or dogma. Find out how easy it is to join. You don't have to believe anything to be a member of St. Andrew's Presbyterian Church. And they would call themselves a group of Christians. And, Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary, that's where James Talarico went to seminary. What do they believe? they just believe in loving God and loving their neighbor. social, economic justice, full inclusion of LGBTQ individuals, in the church. That's their core. that is incompatible with the Scripture. And Jon wrote the book of First Jon to let people know who is really a Christian and who is not. And so he says, listen, you know, he was dealing with this, incipient Gnosticism, this beginning of the Gnostics coming into the church. It was full blown in the second century and you had little seeds of it in the first century. And what is a Gnostic? A Gnostic is somebody who said, well, all that matters is, you know, we have this super knowledge and matter is evil and spirit is good. All that matters is the spirit doesn't matter how you live. all that matters is the secret knowledge that we have. And, Jon says, well, that is bunk. He says, in First Jon, chapter two, he says, the one who says, I have come to know him and does not keep his commandments is a liar. And the truth is not in him, but whoever keeps his word in him. The love of God has truly been perfected by this. We know that we are in Him. The one who says he abides in him ought himself to walk in the same manner as he walked. So just because you say you're a Christian, that doesn't mean you're a Christian. what proves that you're a Christian is you live out your Christianity. It would prove you're a Christian. You say I'm a Christ follower. Well, you shall be holy, for I am holy. and you're going to, walk in the light, and you're going to live in the light, and you're going to promote the ways of the Lord. Well, obviously the way of the Lord is not abortion. You shall not murder. That's commandment number six. God written in stone by the finger of God. James Tallarico says, well, you know the Bible, Jesus never said anything about abortion. I, beg to differ. Jesus is God. And, the Bible has much to say about life and about, the penalty for taking life. Genesis, chapter nine. Whoever sheds man's blood, he's, going to pay with his life. God is for capital punishment for people who commit capital crimes. James Talarico has made some outlandish statements. So he's for, for abortion. He's for transgenderism. He says that Jesus is a, is a radical feminist. I mean, I'm not making this stuff up. Let me play a clip from him.
Frank Pavone Did they teach you in Sunday school that Jesus Christ himself was a radical feminist? Before we go further, I want to acknowledge that, our trans community needs abortion care, too. Defending trans Texans is something we have to do every day at the state capitol. Our southern border should be like our front porch. There should be a giant welcome mat out front and a lock on the door. We can welcome immigrants who want to live the American dream. We can build a pathway to citizenship for those neighbors who have been here making, making us richer.
Pastor Jeff Schreve So Jesus was a radical feminist. Trans people need abortion care. our southern border should be a big welcome Mat, with a lock on the door, but I guess you unlock the door quite frequently and just let people in. he has views that are contrary to the Bible. And when you have views and you're espousing views that are contrary to the Bible and just blatantly contrary to the Bible, and you claim to be this Christian, this Christ follower, those things don't match up. And Jon would say, do not believe every spirit. Test the spirits to see whether they are from God. And listen, if you go, as James Talarico has gone for most of his life, you go to a liberal church that questions everything in the word of God, well, that's going to take its toll on you. That speaks volumes about what you believe, because if you were really a Christian, you wouldn't be there. Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here on American Family Radio. We're up against a break, but we'll be back in three minutes. Don't go away.

Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome back to the program, Pastor Jeff. Here we're talking about, James Tallarico. He's coming to Texarkana this afternoon and then he's going to be in Tyler, tonight at seven o'.
Caroline Clock.
Pastor Jeff Schreve He's calling this tour Clear Eyes, Full Hearts. It's his big push, obviously. Early voting started yesterday. I voted yesterday. And so it's a big push to, get out the vote. Every Christian needs to vote and every Christian needs to vote wisely and biblically. just Because a guy says he's a Christian, just because someone seems nice, because they are clean cut, that doesn't mean that you, know what's inside is what's on the outside. You know, you can put arsenic in a nice bottle, but that doesn't mean that that's going to make that poison any less deadly. I was thinking about this morning about the disciples, you know, the 12 disciples. And they chose the treasurer based on how many of us would choose a treasurer. Who is the one who is most Trustworthy of the 12? And they chose Judas. Judas. Jesus said, did I not choose you, the 12, yet one of you is a devil and not a, one of those guys said, well, we know it's Judas. I mean, he is rotten to the core. No, Judas was a tare among the wheat. But, Judas was. He's the only person in scripture that was ever Satan possessed. We read about people who are demon possessed, but in the Gospel of Jon Jon chapter 13, Satan enters Judas. Judas is a picture of the Antichrist. And Judas did not reveal his true colors until he, betrayed Christ. The other guys did not know that. He looked like he was just all on board. He looked like, man, we can trust this guy. They put him in charge of the treasury. And it says in Jon 12 that he would steal from the treasury. Remember, he was the one that got upset that Mary broke the expensive bottle, of perfume on the feet of Jesus. And the house was filled with the sweet aroma of the perfume purinard. And he said, why was not this perfume sold for 300, days wages, 300 denarii. And he said this Jon says, not because he cared about the poor, but because he was a thief. And he used to pilfer what was put into the money bag. rotten to the core was Judas Iscariot. But you couldn't see it from the outside. So don't be deceived by an innocent looking package. Because the devil comes, he disguises himself as an angel of light. His disciples disguise themselves as workers of righteousness. You have to dig deeper to see is this person genuine and is the teaching that is coming from this person, is this biblical? Now I like to use AI to, to evaluate things. Not to evaluate scripture, but to take like party platforms and say, here are moral issues. Tell me, based on the party platforms, which party lands where on moral issues, whether it's abortion or transgender insanity or open borders, law and order, pro Israel against Israel, those kinds of things. Well, I said, okay, so I was asking AI about James Talarico. And I said, evaluate James Talarico's public stance on moral issues compared to what Peter and James and Jon wrote in the NewSong Testament. And would those three guys who wrote a lot, now they're speaking by inspiration of the Holy Spirit. So what they're saying is what God says. Would those three guys call James Talarico a true teacher or a false teacher? Remember, Peter said, but false prophets arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. So is he a true teacher or is he a false teacher? And AI said, well, according to Peter and James and Jon, they would undoubtedly call him a false teacher. Yeah, no kidding. Because the Bible is clear. What he espouses is wrong. It is sin. It is sin to affirm homosexuality because the Bible clearly defends, condemns homosexuality. It is a sin, to affirm transgenderism. That is insanity. That goes against scripture. That goes against science. That goes against sense. Everyone knows deep down in their common sense that a man can't become a woman, a woman can't become a man. James Hallerico says there are six genders. Well, no, there are not. There are two. He made us male and female. Jesus is not a radical feminist. I dealt with a radical feminist just last week in Washington, D.C. and, she wasn't very pleasant to deal with. And, you just looked at her and her whole appearance just screamed radical feminist. Now, here's another thing that James Talarico does that is so deceptive. You know, the Bible talks about, you know, how the devil will take the word of God. The first thing that came out of his mouth, Genesis, chapter three, verse one. To a human being, indeed, has God said, you shall not eat from any tree of the garden? Question mark. He takes the word of God, he twists the word of God, he adds a question mark to it, gets you to question it, question the goodness of God and question the statements of God. And that's how he works. Well, James Talarico, some months ago, was on with Joe Rogan, and this is what he had to say concerning abortion. Now listen to how subtle his lie is here. What do you think is the biblical
Jeff Chamblee evidence to support the opinion of being pro abortion?
Frank Pavone Mary is probably my, my favorite figure in the Bible. the mother of Jesus. And, you know, she is, oppressed peasant teenage girl living in poverty under an oppressive empire as a Jew. And she, she has a vision from God that she's going to give birth to a baby who's going to bring the powerful down from their thrones. God asks for Mary's consent, which is remarkable. I mean, go back and read this in Luke.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Okay, so let's read it in Luke. Let's see if God asks for Mary's consent. Now, in the sixth month, the angel Gabriel was sent from God to a city in Galilee called Nazareth, to a virgin engaged to a man whose name was Joseph of the descendants of David. And the virgin's name was Mary. Coming in, he said to her, greetings, Hail, favored one, the Lord is with you. But she was very perplexed at this statement and kept pondering what kind of salutation this was. The angel said to her, do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bear a son. And you shall name him Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High. And the Lord God will give him the throne of his father David and, and he will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and his kingdom will have no end. Mary said to the angel, how can this be since I am a virgin? The angel answered and said to her, the Holy Spirit will come upon you and the power of the Most High will overshadow you. And for that reason the Holy Child shall be called the Son of God. And behold, even your relative Elisabeth has also conceived a son in her old age. And she who is called barren is now in her sixth month, for nothing will be impossible with God. And Mary said, behold the bondslave of the Lord. May it be done to me according to your word. And the angel departed from her. Well, did you notice in that passage that he is referring to, not once did the angel ask for her consent. She said, yes, I want this to happen. But he didn't ask her. Now, the Holy Spirit will come upon you. But do you want that to happen, Mary? That's the way James Tallarico frames this, and that is his biblical support of abortion. This is what he goes on to say.
Frank Pavone I mean, the angel comes down and asks Mary if this is something she wants to do. And she says, if it is God's will, let it be done. Let it be, let it happen. So to me, that is an affirmation in one of our most central stories that creation has to be done with consent. You cannot force someone to create. Creation is one of the most sacred acts that, that, that we engage in as human beings. But that has to be done with Consent, it has to be done with freedom. And, and to me, that is absolutely consistent with the ministry and life and death of Jesus. And so that's why I, that's how I come down on that side of the issue. Again, I'm very open.
Pastor Jeff Schreve So that's how he gets his pro abortion stance from that encounter with Gabriel and Mary. And he twists it to make it sound like the angel Gabriel was asking her, mary, you know, is this something you want to do? Because, you know, if you don't want to do this, then we won't do it. You know, I have to get your consent before we can do anything. That is not what the text says. Now, Peter, the apostle Peter, he says, and I'm preaching on this Wednesday. But it's interesting. Ah, he closes out his, little epistle two. Peter, it's just 361 verses. He says this, therefore, beloved, since you look for these things, be diligent to be found by him in peace, spotless and blameless, and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation. Just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand. Peter says that, hey, some of the stuff that Paul writes is hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort as they do also the rest of the scriptures to their own destruction. That's what James Talarico does. He distorts the scriptures. And Peter is saying, hey, what Paul is writing is scripture. But they distort the scriptures to their own destruction. That's how the devil works. The devil takes the word of God, he twists the word of God, he questions the word of God, he gives it back to you so that you will believe a lie. You know, the other thing about James Talarico that is so, damnable and so deceptive is, he presents. He said, well, Jesus just had two commands. I mean, that's just all he did. His ministry was just two commands. Just love God and love people, love your neighbor as yourself. And, you know, he paints this Jesus, this not the Jesus of the Bible. He paints this Jesus, that's another, Jesus. As Paul said to the Corinthians, you come and you listen to these false teachers. They tell you about another Jesus whom we have not preached. Just as the Muslims. Tucker Carlsen said, well, you know, they don't want you to know that Muslims love Jesus, but they love another Jesus who's not the Jesus of the Bible. They Love this make believe Jesus. James Tallarico trusts in a make believe Jesus. The Jesus of the Bible is God in the flesh. He's the way, the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father but through him. the devil is always going to attack the person of Christ. He'll attack his deity or he'll attack his humanity. Now, in our day, the attack is on the deity of Christ. In the first and second century, the attack was on the humanity of Christ. And they would say, well, Jesus appeared to be a man, but he wasn't really a man. Why? Because Gnosticism says matter is evil and spirit is good. And so if, Jesus couldn't have been a man because that would be evil. So he just appeared to be a man. And the Gnostics and the Docetics, that's what their heresy was. And so that's why Jon said, hey, unless someone confesses that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh, that person's not of God. Jesus is both God and man. So the devil will attack the person of Christ. He'll attack the work of Christ. What did he come to do? He came to seek and to save that which was lost. He came, not to be served, but to serve and to give his life a ransom for many. If you take Jesus into just, well, all he came to do was to teach some good lessons about how to live and tell us to give to the poor and help those in need. And that's all there is about Jesus Christ. You've missed the whole, message of the gospel. The gospel is this. you're a sinner, I'm a sinner. All have sinned and falls short of the glory of God. And the wages of sin is death. Physical death, spiritual death, death forever separated from God in the lake of fire, which is the second death. You and I are on the highway to hell. And for God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, Son that whosoever believes in him should not perish. He doesn't want you to go to hell, but you should have, eternal life. And this life is in his Son. He who has the Son has the life. He who does not have ah, the Son of God does not have the life. These things I've written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God in order that you may know k n o w that you have eternal life. And so it's very, very important to be discerning and to not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. And so, as Josh Howerton said, I watched a, clip of him. He said, hey, when you go vote, you're not voting for, be my valentine. You're voting for the person that is going to help the, in our case in Texas, help the state and, be, a blessing to the state, Help the masses. As I shared Yesterday, Jeremiah chapter 29, verse 7, God's word to the exiles was, seek the welfare of the city to which I sent you into exile and pray for the welfare of the city, for in its welfare you will have welfare. The word welfare is shalom. That's a comprehensive word that means wholeness and peace and happiness and contentment. And we're to seek that. Now, one of the ways we do that in America is by standing up, by speaking up, by living a life that would be a blessing to others and by voting. Because every political issue will affect, ah, the welfare of the city, the shalom of the city. Think about France today. They have made some terrible decisions. They've made some terrible, votes, and now they have disaster on their hands. you're not getting welfare in that city. You're getting a nightmare in that city. We are to seek the welfare of the city. So we vote for people that are going to bring welfare to the masses. Peace, shalom to the masses, good things to the masses. Without that, we're not doing what the Lord called us to do. And we are hurting people in the long run by staying on the sidelines or by voting, throwing our vote away, so to speak, on a candidate that's going to sink the ship. He's not going to, bless the people. Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here. When we come back from the break, we'll be taking your calls. 888-589-8840. Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome back to the program, Pastor. Pastor Jeff here. We're talking about, believe not every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God. Because many false prophets have gone out into the world. First Jon, chapter four, verse one. James Talarico is coming to Texarkana. And, there are many who call themselves Christians that are all Jazzed about this candidate because, oh, we have a clean cut Christian candidate who loves people. He loves God and loves people. He wants to help people. And that's what I want to do, because I'm a good person and I want to help people, too. And those conservatives, they're bad people. They don't want to help people. Well, that's just ridiculous. You know, supporting people. I said this Sunday in my sermon on, for the sake of the city, supporting people in sin, cheering people down the road that leads off a cliff, that's not love. That really is the ultimate form of hatred. I must really hate you if I want to cheer you as you speed down the road where the bridge is out and you're going to fall off the cliff to your death. No. First Corinthians 13:6. Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. Now think about this. Because James Talarico says, hey, Jesus was just about two commandments. Loving God and loving people. Love your neighbor as yourself. Okay, well, if that's all he did, how did, how did he end up on a cross? you know, most people, if you just say, hey, I just love you and affirm you, and you, just keep going, that's your truth. And, you know, whatever you say, I'm for it. As Tim Wildmon likes to say, hey, I'm for everybody on everybody's team to win on Saturday. And tongue in cheek, obviously, but. But if that's the way Jesus was, if these. Just this mamby pamby milquetoast guy, you know, the Jesus Christ superstar kind of guy, that they presented him years ago in that movie, presented him as this just, you know, flittering around, this hippie kind of guy. If, that's the way he was, he wouldn't have ended up on a cross. No. Jesus said in Jon chapter seven to his brothers, the world cannot hate you, but it hates me because I testify against it that its deeds are evil. What's the job of a pastor? Second Timothy, chapter four. I solemnly charge you in the presence of God and of Christ Jesus, who is to judge the living and the dead, and by his appearing and his kingdom, preach the Word. Be ready in season and out of season. Reprove. Ouch. Rebuke. Ouch. Exhort. With great patience and instruction, we preach the Word. And what does the Word do? It reproves. It rebukes before it exhorts. It does those three things, but the first two are owies. we don't like to get our toes stepped on. Well, James Talarico is not going to step on anybody's toes, except if you're a conservative Christian, then he's going to step on your toes. He's going to come after you. He's going to call you a Christian nationalist. We used to call somebody a Christian patriot, but now they call him a Christian nationalist because it sounds worse. yeah, I want the nation to become Christian. I'm, not going to force anybody to do that. But I want them to come to know Christ. I want James Talarico to come to know Christ. he calls himself a Christian. He's not a Christian. And I'll say that about other people too. I don't see into their heart. And so that, you know, ultimately it's God, but that obviously decides. He writes your name in the Lamb's Book of life or doesn't. But based on everything that I can see, based on the test of the word of God. Jesus said, do not, as Jon said, by inspiration, the Holy Spirit. Do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits. And Jesus said, hey, be careful of the wolf in sheep's clothing. And, you will know them by their fruits. And, and so whether that's President Trump who claims to be a Christian, I've never seen any evidence that President Trump is a Christian. I've never seen him verbalize, the person and work of Christ and his bowing the knee to Jesus Christ. Well, that's what is required to be a Christian. So it's not just one sided, I think Pete Hegseth, he's a Christian. he prays in Jesus name. He prays and he's talking to somebody he knows personally. And this is my opinion as I listen to him, not something that he knows about. as it was told to me in 2016 when I was invited to the White House and met with some officials, they said, you know, President Trump is not a, he's not a Sunday school teacher, but he likes Sunday school teachers. And President Trump does like Christians. He likes people to pray for him. He likes to be around Christians. I want him to come to a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. I don't think that has happened yet. but President Trump is not a deceiver. He's not presenting himself as one thing and then he is something else. And talking to you about Christian things in a deceptive way, you say, well, how dare you say that about James Talarico. Well, they went undercover and talked to one of the Pastors at his church, a lesbian pastor at his church. Her name is Babs Miller. And they were asking about Talarico flip flopping. And this is what she had to say undercover. She didn't know that she was being filmed.
Frank Pavone Trump people are attacking Talarico for saying that God is non binary. That's literally what he is. Yeah, he went on Fox News and like walked that back. Did you, did you see that?
Yeah.
Caroline He's getting
Caroline advice that I don't think he should be following.
Caroline Yeah.
Frank Pavone Because that's why, that's frankly something, that attracted me to this church was like.
Caroline And I can guarantee you that once he gets elected, he'll change his tune back to where he was.
Jeff Chamblee Okay.
Pastor Jeff Schreve I can guarantee you that once he gets elected, he will change his tune back to where it was.
Caroline Hm.
Pastor Jeff Schreve That, that fits. He's just, just going to say anything. so you think he's middle of the road? He's not. He is progressive. And, he goes to a Presbyterian, progressive church. We're Presbyterian and progressive. That's what it says on the website. Anybody that says they're progressive in their theology, they have departed from orthodox Christianity. And as Jon says. 1 Jon 2 they went out from us, but they were not really of us. For if they had been of us, they would have remained with us. But they went out in order that it might be shown that they all are not of us. Do not be deceived. False teachers are out there. And it takes discernment to know what is good and what is evil, what is of the truth and what is of error. Well, we're going to the phone lines at 888-589-8840 and we have Robin on the line from Virginia. Robin, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline Oh, well, good morning. thank you, Pastor Sri, for being, having open phone lines and taking my call this morning. And I wanted to be really short and quick because I appreciate how you present topics and thank you for, you know, these kinds of points of, issue or ideas I feel like are the slippery slope of being a Christian because, on the one hand, I feel like God is the God of paradoxes. Right? God is bigger than any paradox. So anybody who's ever written a, book report in sixth grade or junior high, high school, even college, it's important not to plagiarize. You know, you're not supposed to steal from somebody else's work. It's almost like the importance of integrity. People say it's what you do when no one's watching. It's honesty in the mind and in the heart that you're not going to write down what someone else has already created or put together. However, when you talk about pastors like this and issues in the Christian church and who's following the Word, the danger of how you present something or someone's perspective could be a version of compromise. Right? And the danger of compromise. And like it says in the scripture, we're not supposed to add or take away anything from the Word. So really, when it comes to the word of God and what the monks did and the people who would repeat in calligraphy, you know, every single word and transcribe it so that there would be additional copies of the exact same type that they were supposed to be plagiarizing. We were supposed to be following the Word and what God says. So I just wanted to thank you because I have people who have, you know, changed their minds too and gone to different lifestyles. And so the funny thing is, for years I wanted to make a bumper sticker that said, you know, it's like being, you know, like I said, anybody who's written code and computer ease, if it's a 0 or 1 or a letter or number could make all the difference in the world. Well, if there's a bumper sticker that could say something like, you know, the devil may be in the details. You know, like a lawyer. The devil may be in the details, but God's got it all. And I just thank you for approaching this topic because it's so important that we don't present our own perspective. That's what the snake did on the tree to Eve, right?
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. Well, I appreciate that, Robin. Yeah, we. You have to do your homework and you have to, you know, I woke up with this scripture in my mind, James 1:5. If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God who gives to all men generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him. So we need to pray. If you're not sure about, your vote for this m. First of all, every Christian needs to vote. it is estimated that 8 million are not going to vote. 8 million, self described Christians are not even going to bother to vote in this election. Well, that's just criminal. That's a sin against God. You can't seek the welfare of the city if you're not even going to vote. Because as I shared Sunday, hey, politics affects the welfare of the city. Every political issue affects the welfare of the city. And every political issue has a moral component to it. And if we sit this out and God's crowd says, oh, yeah, we're not going to get involved in that, then who's left to vote? It's going to be the devil's crowd. And the devil's crowd is not going to vote for, biblical values. And so we need to immerse ourself in the scripture. We need to be able to discern between good and evil and we need to vote accordingly. And if you're not sure, ask God and then look at the people that have been solid in preaching the truth. Where do they land? And if you, you know, I've said this before, who's on the team? You know, you're choosing a team, whether it's, the red team or the blue team. Who's on the red team? Who's on the blue team? If the people on your team are, people that have bought into transgender insanity, people that are rioters and looters and people that are, just living off the government dole, people that are able bodied and refuse to work, people that, you know, are just so. People that are calling for, defund the police and calling for, socialism and communism, people that are promoting Islam, people that are marching against Israel. If those people are on your team, I mean, you'd have to be blind as a bat to say, yeah, God wants me to support that team. Obviously he doesn't want you to do that. It's obvious that he doesn't want you to do that. And when your team are baby killers killing babies in the womb, that's the team that you choose. you have, lost your ability to know the difference between good and evil. So I appreciate it. Robin, thank you so much. We have Kelly on the line from Arkansas. Kelly, welcome to Real Truth for today.
Caroline I just wanted to thank you for your honesty about the candidates, about all the sides. it's really hard to look at either one, but I wanted to see what your opinion was. I see a lot of independents now running. I see a lot of libertarians running. I wish you'd kind of talk about that, and tell us how to pray for our leaders. Cause we know good and well that a bunch of them are not Christian. And, and we, we don't pray for them like we used to. I don't think, I hardly hear, ever hear anybody praying for all the leaders anymore. I know they do on afr. I hear them praying for Democrats and Republicans. But I wanted to see what you thought about those other folks. That are out there and kind of where they stand, the independents and the libertarians and.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, well, I appreciate that, Kelly. So I would encourage you to go to ivoterguide.com I voter guide. I not eye but the letter I ivoterguide.com that's American family Association's, site for all the candidates in every race. And you can see where they stand on, being conservative, being liberal, and Democrats, Republicans, Independents. And so, you know, typically it's going to be either Republican or Democrat that's going to win the race. We need to have better candidates. I was talking to a friend and, he said, you know, when, when you don't have much to choose from, that's not good. Now we have some solid people in politics. Brandon Gill in Texas is a solid guy. Ted Cruz is a solid guy. and others are like that. Nathaniel Moran, he is our representative here in Texarkana in the House. He's a solid guy. I've had him on the program. Brian Hughes, one of our state senators, solid Christian guy. So we have some good guys that we can. And ladies that we can vote for. But, we need to do our homework. We need to get more of God's people involved in the political process and in the political, arena running for office. Because God's people can make a difference. And, when, you know, Governor Mike Huckabee, his daughter Sarah Sanders Huckabee or Huckabee Sanders, those people are making a difference. And so we desperately need to pray for them. I appreciate that, Kelly. And, that's what the scripture says, Jeremiah 29:7. So we seek the welfare of the city. We pray for the welfare of the city where the Lord has sent us. We are strangers and aliens here on this earth, but we are here for such a time as this to make a difference as salt and light, and to improve things for the masses. Especially to pass the baton of, freedom to our children, our grandchildren, and our great grandchildren. Linda, I'm sorry we didn't get to you. Hey, go out today, Shine for Christ. Share what great things the Lord has done for you, and God will use you as his witness. God bless.

God bless.
