Well, good Wednesday morning and welcome to Real Truth for Today. Pastor Jeff Shareve here. Hope you're having a wonderful morning. We had a big crowd last night as we had the Wren Collective and David Crowder concert that we, we hosted here. And big crowd, lots of, lots of worship. People really, really enjoyed it. I'm not a big music guy, so that's loud. music is really not my scene. But, they did a great job. My son in law, who's our media director, Jay Budzielowski, he said, man, it went great. And so everybody seemed to, really, really en it. So we praise the Lord for that. Wanted, to read to you from Proverbs chapter 28. Today is October 28th. I try and read a proverb every day. I was told early in my Christian life that a proverb a day keeps the devil away. 31 proverbs. And you, read one every day. So proverbs 28. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing. But the righteous are bold as a lion by the transgression of a land, many are its princes. But by a man of understanding and knowledge, so it endures. A poor man who oppresses the lowly is like a driving rain which leaves no food. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all things. Well, we're going to unpack that a little bit, this morning especially, where it says that those who forsake the law, praise the wicked. We have a lot of people doing that today, and, we have a whole party. It seems to me that's so upside down morally, as I've stated many, many times. Isaiah, chapter 5, verse 20. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil. when you are supporting criminals and coming against those who are being victimized, your moral compass has broken. Nick, the guy that, exposed all the fraud, Nick Sherley, you know, he said when I exposed the fraud in Minnesota, he said the, left didn't come after the fraudsters, they came after me. What did they do in California? Nick Sherley goes to California, starts exposing fraud. What does Gavin Newsom do? He passes a law to come after Nick Sherley. What did Donald Trump do? He gave Nick Sherley $10,000. Ah. As a reward for exposing waste, fraud and abuse. So those who forsake the law, they praise the wicked. But those who keep the law strive with them. That's what we do. We strive with those who are, who are wicked and who are forsaking the law and who want to turn our country into, something else than it was founded to be, to be a socialist wasteland. We come against that, we fight against that. America is worth fighting for. And it is worth it for us to stand up and speak up, whether people listen to us or not. that's not, our call. That's not within our job description. And you make them, obey you or respond to you. No, you warn them. we're the watchmen on the wall. We warn them and we say, hey, the enemy is coming and disaster is coming and you need to prepare. If they respond to that, great. If they don't, that's on them. That's not on us. But the Lord says, hey, if you don't warn them, you see the enemy coming and you don't warn them, and you're a watchman on the wall, well, their blood is going to be on your hands. I will require it from you. So it is October 28th. This is a special, special day in my family because it's my mom's birthday. My mom is 98 years old. And so I want to give a shout out to Lucille Schrieve there in Houston, Texas. she still lives in the house that we moved into in 1975 and, there in Lakewood Forrest. And, she lives by herself and, and she has lots of help. my brother in law comes three times a day to feed her breakfast, lunch and dinner and to Take care of things. My sisters and my other brothers come and help her. Everybody lives in the Houston area except Debbie and me, as we live here in Texarkana, Texas, about five hours away. But, my mom is funny. She said, I don't understand why I am living so long. she has trouble seeing, she has trouble hearing. she has trouble walking. She said, but aside from that, beside from seeing, hearing and walking, I'm in pretty good shape. And her mind is sharp as attack. And, you just kind of have to shout at her a little bit because her hearing is not great, even with hearing aids. But, she does as well as she can. She's struggling a little bit with the uti. So if the Lord puts my mom, Lucille Schrieve, on your heart today, please pray for her and pray that she would have a special, special. Debbie and I are going to visit, her this weekend and, just get to spend some time with a wonderful lady. And, you know, as my mom, when she was 40 years old, going through a difficult time in her marriage, she grew up Catholic, has been Catholic her whole life, but started reading a book called, From Prison to Praise or Prison to Merlin Carruthers. And, it was during that time where she understood the love of God in a different way. And she said, you know, it became personal to her. And that's when she really, developed that personal relationship with Jesus. And that affected me as a young guy. I wasn't a Christian until I was 17, but I saw a change in my mom, during a hard time. You know, it's the hard times. We don't like the hard times. But God uses the hard times to bring us to our knees and to help us see how much we need Him. So let's get back to Proverbs 28. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing. But the righteous are bold as a lion. are you bold as a lion? We are called to come out from among them. 2 Corinthians, chapter 6. And be separate, says the Lord. We are called to be salt and light in a lost and dying world. The salt can't lose its savor. And the only way salt loses its saltiness is if it gets polluted. Salt with other minerals, salt with gypsum. Let's say it gets polluted and then it loses its saltiness. Because Salt, sodium chloride, NaCl, is a stable compound. And the only way that you can diminish, it is by diluting it and by compromising it with other minerals. So the Bible from the lips of Jesus. Hey, don't do that. Don't lose your saltiness. And don't take your light and hide it under a bushel basket. Put it on the lampstand so that it will light up the whole house. And, we talk about shine and share on real truth for today. What is the job of a Christian? To shine and then to share. We shine the way we live and we share what we say and how we tell people about Jesus, who's mighty to save, and how we strive with the wicked. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. Now, I am convinced that, those on the left, many, many of those on the left, they have, been given over by God. Romans, chapter one. To a reprobate, depraved mind. A, mind that no longer functions. That no longer functions morally. Their minds still might be able to do math problems, and business deals, but it doesn't, function morally. And they call evil good and good evil. And we have to strive against that. We have to bring the light into the darkness as Jesus. Jesus said in Jon chapter three. You know Jon chapter three. Everybody knows, Jon 3:16. I say everybody. I mean, it's one of the most well known verses in all the Bible. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world or to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who does not believe has been judged already because he has not believed. In the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment. Okay, get ready for this. This is the judgment. That light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God. Hey, if you are committed to evil, guess what? You hate the light. You hate it when someone shines the light on your sinfulness. When Steven In Acts chapter 7, when he preached to the Sanhedrin, and when he said to them, he calls them out. Now these are guys that are not used to being called out because these are the high muckety mucks. But he calls them out and they get so mad. He said, you men who are stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, are always resisting the Holy Spirit. You are doing just as your fathers did. Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the righteous one, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become. You have betrayed the Messiah. You have murdered the Messiah. The long awaited Messiah. Guess what, guys? You murdered him. You who have received the law as ordained by angels and yet did not keep it. Now, when they heard this, he was preaching truth. He was filled with the Holy Spirit preaching truth to them. What did they do? He was shining the light on their darkened hearts. Now, when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing, their teeth at him. They are angry, like gnashing teeth is like growling like a dog. you gnash your teeth in pain or in anger, and they are angered, and they put their hands over their ears. They cried out with a loud voice and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse, and they stoned him to death. They did not want to hear what he had to say. men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their deeds were evil. That's what it says in Jon, chapter three, right after the great verse, the gospel in a nutshell, Jon 3. 16. Men love the darkness. and they don't come to the light because the light will expose them. but listen, all of us, if you have a testimony of faith in Christ, guess what? You have a testimony that says, hey, the light came and it shined in my sinful heart. And it showed me that I was a sinner in desperate need of a savior. And I responded to that. See, not everybody, hates the light. The, light hurts. You know, if you've ever been sleeping in a darkened room and somebody, wakes you up by turning on the lights, it hurts your eyes. And salt, we talk about salt. What is. You're the salt of the earth. Jesus said, well, what does salt do? Salt is a, is a preservative. for one thing, you put salt in with the fish, salt in with the meat, and it preserves it. It staves off the corruption. Salt also is, that which brings healing. Salt is that which burns in a wound. You know, we talk about you putting salt in a wound. When you put salt in a wound, it burns when you flip the light on and somebody has been sleeping in a dark room and he opens. She opens her eyes and they hurt because the light, is, is jarring. Well, that's what we are to be in our world. And some people hate the light. those who don't want to come to the light, they hate the light. But those of us who responded to the light, we welcomed the light. We said, lord, I'm a sinner. As blind Bartimaeus said, jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. We recognized our sinfulness as Zacchaeus recognized his sinfulness and gave his life to Jesus. Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here on American Family Radio. Welcome back to the program, Pastor Jeff. Here we're talking about being bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ needs to be bold. One of the things that they prayed for in Acts chapter four, when they were threatened by the Sanhedrin and they said, speak no more in the name of Jesus. And they threatened them. And then they came back to the Peter and Jon came back to the rest of the group and they prayed. And what did they pray for? Lord, protect us. No, Lord, give us boldness. Grant your servants boldness that we may speak as we ought to speak. And God answered that prayer. The place where they had prayed was shaken, and they began to preach the word and speak the word with great boldness. That is the need of the hour that God's people would be discerning and God's people would be bold. you know, I think about things this way. If you worked in an office building, large office building. When I was working at Nalco Chemical Company, I had a lot of the downtown Houston buildings were my accounts. And those. Those buildings had, chillers and they had cooling towers, and I sold specialty chemicals for, chillers and boilers and closed, loop systems and open loop systems and biocides and corrosion inhibitors and scale inhibitors, all that stuff. Well, those. Those places needed that. And some of those buildings, were. I mean, they were huge. 40, 50, 60 floors. And, you know, if you. If you worked in a building like that, 60 floors, and you knew there was a bomb in the building and it was gonna go off, you didn't know when. You just knew, hey, this could go off at any moment, wouldn't you feel compelled to let everybody know? And if people made fun of you for believing that, would you just say, okay, well, I'm not gonna. I guess I shouldn't say anything. I'll just leave you to your own devices. No, you would urge people. Now, you can't make them leave, but you can sure urge people to leave and tell them this is what's going to happen. Listen, the Bible says in Second Peter, chapter three, but do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, because the argument in second Peter 3 is that, where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues as it was from the beginning of creation. And Peter says, hey, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord, one day is as a thousand years and the thousand years as one day. God is outside of time. So just because it's been almost 2000 years since Jesus died and rose again, doesn't, mean he's not coming. He says the Lord is not slow about his promise, as some men count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a great roar, and the elements will melt with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. that's what's coming. And so what do we have? We've been given the job of Roaring, so to speak. The righteous are bold as a lion, and we warn people and we point them to Jesus, who is mighty to save. And as we said, yesterday, we really have the job of Noah. Noah, a preacher of righteousness who is building the ark. Now, our job is not to build an ark, but our job is to tell people, Jesus is the ark of safety. And you can come to him. He's our refuge and strength, the very present help in trouble. He invites you to come to him. Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. And so we need to be bold and we need to let people know, hey, at some time that this thing is falling apart. The world is a sinking ship. And, the only ark of safety is the Lord Jesus Christ. So we have, this ministry that the Lord has given us, and we need to tell people. Now. I posted, on Facebook just the other day, I posted the clip I played yesterday about James Tallarico, talking about, this fact that he presents himself as a Christian and he's kind of running on the fact that I'm a Christian, candidate on the left, which people have pointed out. If you were a true Christian candidate, you would never be a, candidate that the Democrats would support, because true Christians, support all the things that the Democrats are against. The Democrats are pro abortion. A true Christian is pro life. A Democrat is pro lgbtqia. A true Christian is not. A Democrat is for, this idea that biological men can be women. a true Christian says, that's impossible. A Democrat says, well, gender is on a spectrum. No, it's not. It's binary. God made you either male or female. True Christian is supporting Israel because we know that Genesis 12, when God called, Abram before he changed his name to Abraham, he said, I'm going to make of you a great nation. I, will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you. True Christian recognizes that, that Israel is special. The Bible calls Israel in the Old Testament the apple of God's eye. A true Christian is going to be for law and order, not for criminal behavior. True Christian is not going to be for the government taking all your stuff, like, you see, with socialism and communism and. And, but the Democrats are for that and getting more and more in that direction. A true Christian sees the danger of Islam because Islam is a satanic religion that is more than a religion. It's a total way of life. And, it is a major, major threat to America and every. Its track Record everywhere it goes, it subjugates people to. To a life of misery. You know, it's just oppressive. It's satanic. And you just see the devil's fingerprints all over it. See what Islam is doing to the Nigerian Christians, how they're killing the Nigerian Christians. That's how they operate. And I ran across. This was kind of interesting. I ran across this, comment by a guy, Nick, ah, Fritas. He is a green, beret, combat veteran, conservative commentator. And he talked about Islam. And, it was an interesting take because he talked about moderate, Muslims versus, what we call the radical Muslims. And he says, really? Is that. Is it really that the moderate Muslims are right and the radicals are not right? The radicals have deviated from, historic, Islam, the Islam that was practiced by Muhammad? Or is it that the radical ones are right and the moderates have deviated from what is historic Islam? This is what he had to say. If someone is playing Beethoven and they play it badly, I don't blame Beethoven. The concern that I have when I look at Islam is I feel like the people that are playing Islam badly are the nice moderate ones. If I point to someone that's a complete aberration, or I point to someone that is not living out their faith and they're the peaceful ones, I come to the conclusion that they're peaceful, not the faith that they claim.
Speaker C We want to convince ourselves that Islam is by nature the good guys. And then you have the few crazy guys. It's like you said the opposite. And I'll leave you with a final analogy, just to show you how the people who foist this arguments about what's real, Islam, how inconsistent they are. You know, Oskar Schindler was a Nazi, right? And he was a ranking Nazi. He was an actual member, not just a sympathizer or just some German living in the, you know, 30s. He was a member and, well, he's supposed to be a hero, right? He did great things. He saved Jews and others at no small risk to himself. And yet I have never heard someone. You know, I don't see a movement about how, hey, Nazism is misunderstood. Most Nazis are like Oscar Schindler. They're moderates. It's just the bad, the Hitler, he was just radical. That's not true. Nazism. Nobody does that. Right? And it's because we all by nature understand. Yeah, Nazism is. Is what Nazism is. You have people and members among them who will, you know, rise above it and do the right thing. And that's what those Muslims are. But we insist that, oh, you see, they represent good, real Islam. No, they don't. No more than Oskar Schindler represents good Nazism.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, it makes that argument. That's. I believe that, if you study Islam and you study Muhammad, you, see that what they're doing in Iran, what Hamas does and Hezbollah and Al Qaeda, those place those terrorist cells and those terrorist regimes, that is true Islam. They take over. It's jihad. It's, everyone's going to bow the knee or we're going to cut your head off. And, the moderates, quote, unquote, moderates don't represent true Islam. Now, they might have more of them, but when it comes, as my friend Bill Federer says, hey, you know, you have the radicals that say, you know, our job is to bring about the whole world under the thumb of, Allah and his prophet Muhammad and the whole world under Sharia law. And, you have the moderate saying, well, that's going to come about at some time. We don't know when. And I'm not really push him for that. But he says, what you see as you have these countries, we've seen it in Europe with France and with Germany and with Italy. You let all these people in that have this ideology that everyone's going to one day, bow the knee to Allah. Well, they come in and you give them all this stuff. You're dealing with them like you're dealing with, you know, your uncle and thinking that they're good hearted and they want what's best for the country and, and everybody's on the same, you know, on the same mental, wire, you know, and we're thinking the same, we're on the same wavelength. Well, they're not. And so they see that as weakness. And then they say, hey, these people are just, they're just kowtowing to us. Let's just keep taking more and more and more and let's bring about this, this jihad without even having to fire a shot. And we will get in control and everything will be under the submission to Allah and Sharia law. And the moderates are like, oh, okay, well, I guess this is the time now. Because they all believe that this is what Bill Federer has deduced. They all believe that just one group thinks it's supposed to come now, and the other group thinks, well, it may not come for 100 years, but those guys that think it's coming in a hundred years, they quickly get on board when they see these dominoes start to fall. Well, getting back to what I had previously said, so I played the clip from James Talarico the other day where he was, talking about being a Christian. And, you know, he said that he learns from all the Muhammad and Buddhism and all the, you know, all the faiths. They just all come together and there's just many roads to God. You know, it's just typical Oprah Winfrey Christianity. That's not true Christianity. So I commented on it, and I just said, you know, this guy's not a Christian. He's a fake Christian. What this guy states that he believes is not Christianity. My issue with him is that he keeps trying to present himself as a Christian. A true Christian believes that Jesus is God in the flesh. He's God's only son and man's only savior. God in the flesh who died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave. And he rose bodily on the third day. Talarico's pastor preached on Easter that, you know, we don't know if that happened or not. And he puts a big question mark anytime you start putting question marks on the word of God. that is. Should be a major red flag to everyone who names, the name of Christ. That. Wait a minute. Watch out for that guy, because that's what the devil does. I still remember a, message from Adrian Rogers on Genesis 3. Any man, any woman, any boy, any girl, anybody, anywhere who puts a question mark on the word of God is doing the work of the devil. Indeed, Satan says first thing out of his mouth to a human being. Indeed. Has God said, you shall not eat from any tree of the garden? These people trying to get you to question the word of God. come on, that can't be right. So I said, you know, a, Christian believes Jesus died and he rose bodily on the third day. If Jesus didn't bodily come out of the grave, First Corinthians 15 says, Your faith is worthless. We believe that Jesus is God's only son and man's only Savior. He's the only way to the Father. there is no salvation. There is salvation in no one else, as Peter said, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. And, that is the gospel. And if you don't believe that, guess what? You're not a Christian and quit presenting yourself as a Christian. And so, I had somebody respond, and this person said, well, shouldn't we just love everybody and pray? aren't we Supposed to just love. All in caps, everyone, including all our enemies, and pray for them. some people tend to forget about that. And, yes, God convicted me to post this prayers for everyone. Well, okay. That tends to be the, response. Well, you're being so harsh. We're just supposed to love people. Just love James Talarico. Well, I do love him. And real love tells, people the truth. Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. That guy is. Is on a, speeding train off a cliff. If he dies, if he were to die tomorrow believing how he believes today, well, I can tell you with 100% certainty he wouldn't go to heaven. You say, well, how you judge not, lest you be judged. I'm not the judge. I can just tell you what the judge said. And the judge has made it clear there is salvation and no one else. For there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. the judge has said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me. Jon 14:6. And so if you don't see Jesus as the God man who died on the cross and rose again from the dead, unless you believe Jesus said, Jon 8. 24, unless you believe I am, you shall die in your sins. you're not going to be saved. And so love says to him, hey, you're barking up the wrong tree, pal. And unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. So I said to this person, I said, exactly. Real love warns people of the danger and deception. Real love warns trick or treaters not to go to the house where they're handing out poisoned candy. Real love knows, real hate knows that this house is passing out poison candy and says nothing, pretending all is well. Hey, we're called to be bold. Does the line. Wanted to I saw a clip from Josh Howerton who has done a lot, he's the pastor of Lake Point in Rockwall and he's done a lot to speak the truth and put his, put his name, his reputation on the line. He's bold as a lion. I might not agree with everything that he says and does. but I appreciate the fact that he is, especially in this election, he's making it very, very clear that we need to vote. And he had talked about, hey, we've had 8 million or so that they project 8 million self identified Christians who are not planning to vote. And so he played a clip the other day from a pastor who was pleading with his church, you need to go vote now. I would. And he said, hey, listen to this. Well I would agree that you need to go vote, but you need to vote biblically. It's not just that you vote, it's that you vote biblically. We have a lot of people that call themselves Christians and you know, they're all jazzed here in Texas, all jazzed about James Talarico. They put a sign in their yard. This is Talarico country. It's like, good grief, hey, I get it, you don't like Donald Trump, you don't like Ken Paxton, but you can't vote for Judas. You can't vote for the wolf in sheep's clothing. you can't vote for the guy that is a deceiver and much less that's his Christianity, which is not true Christianity at all. But then all the other stuff that comes with it, perhaps you heard this where, James Talarico was asked, what would Jesus say to the Senate? What would Jesus do if he visited the Texas legislature? I think he would tell us, blessed are the trans children who are bullied. he would not do that. This guy talks about trans stuff all the time. He's all for it. And, transgender, ideology is insanity. It destroys lives. We love people, so we're going to tell them the truth. And, we're, not going to swallow our whistle, so to speak, and not blow and sound the alarm because we see the enemy is coming. We love people enough to tell them the truth. So it's not just go vote. It is vote biblically. I saw this meme. It says if you have 10 people on a bus, three vote to take a left which leads off a cliff, two vote to take, a right which leads to greener, pastures, and five don't vote at all. I said, well, what's going to happen? Well, if three voted to take a left off the cliff and two voted against it, but five don't vote, guess what? All ten are going off the cliff. And so the meme was, you're not doing anyone any favors by not voting. Now, the worst thing you can do is vote to take a left to go off the cliff. The second worst thing you can do is to not vote at all, because then you're going to, you're going off the cliff. And so we need to vote, and we need to vote biblically. Caroline Hello. I was just wondering, you maybe have explained it, and I didn't get it. where the first, verse of chapter 28 in Proverbs where it said, the wicked run away when no one is chasing them. I just a little confused about what that really means.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, so you have, examples in the Old Testament where the Lord would, you know, these enemy armies, I think about the time that you had all these enemies, gathered around Israel, and the Lord caused them to fear, even though there was no enemy, and they thought that somebody was coming, and so they just left everything and so they fear when no one is pursuing. That's an example of that. the wicked, they have. The wicked have lots of fears. And, they'll run away from things, that aren't real. You know, it's. Fear is false evidence appearing real. But the contrast would be that we don't do that because we are bold as a lion. The lion does not flee. and so we stand there. And. And so that would be, the emphasis on that. Okay, here's an example where the wicked flee, when no one was pursuing them in the Old Testament yet. the righteous came. You know, you have the four lepers that go out there, and they say, well, they're besieging the city. We're all going to die. Let's at least go out there. And, if they kill us, they kill us. but we're going to die inside the city. And they go out and they find that all the people are gone, and they have all this food and all the booty, from the enemy, because they fled when no one was pursuing. But I appreciate that, Peggy. Caroline Hey, thank you. Thank, you, Ambassador Treeve. We listen to you all the time. We enjoy it. but had a question for you the other day. I wouldn't even get on, but we have a friend. she doesn't believe in the Trinity, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe Jesus is God. And I. I believe it, but I. I guess I'm always seeking confirmation. do you. How important is it to believe Jesus is God for salvation? is that it? Is it very crucial or is just believing he's the son of God? He's up.
Pastor Jeff Schreve It's critical. Jesus said, unless you believe I am, you will die in your sins. And so that's, Jon 8. 24. So therefore, he said to them, you will die in your sins, for Unless you believe that I am he. And the he is in italics, which means it wasn't really there. They added it for readability. Unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins. And he goes on to say, before Abraham was born, I am. And they picked up stones to stone him, because they knew that that's the name of God. And so Jesus claimed to be God. That's what they. And the Old Testament, Old Testament didn't really. Those guys didn't see their Messiah as being the God man. In the NewSong. So. So Jesus comes in the NewSong Testament. And, they were seeing that the. The Messiah m. Is the son of David. He's a man. But Jesus asked the question in Matthew chapter 22. He asked the religious leaders, he said, the son of the Messiah, whose son is he? And they said, well, he's the son of David. He said, oh, then how does David in the spirit call him Lord when he says? The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand until I put your enemies, under your feet. He said, if David calls him Lord, how then is he his son? And they couldn't answer the question. And no one dared from that day forward to ask him any more questions. So the question is, how can he be David's son and David's Lord? Well, the only way he can do that is by being both. He's the Son of man and the Son of God. He's 100% God and 100% man. And he had to be that in order to be the perfect sacrifice. Because no man, as it says in Psalm 49, no man, can by any means redeem his brother or give to God a ransom for him. For the redemption of his soul is costly. And so the Lord had to be perfect. That's why he's born of a virgin. That's why the virgin birth is so critical for salvation. Because if Jesus was born of just regular intercourse between a man and a woman, then he would have a sin nature and he wouldn't be the spotless lamb. And so, yes, critical. If you don't understand that Jesus is God, you don't know who he is. And so, if I put my faith and trust in, the Jesus of the Mormon. Well, the Jesus of the Mormon is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the Mormon is not creator, God. And so, yeah, that Jesus doesn't exist. And that Jesus cannot save you. You've believed, as the Bible says in Corinthians, you've believed in another Jesus whom we have not preached, and that Jesus can't save you. So, the Bible has a lot to say. Galatians, chapter one. If anybody preaches to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let that person be anathema. Let them be eternally condemned. Let them go to hell, because they are poisoning. They're putting, cyanide in the Tylenol capsules. They're telling you and feeding you something. That's why James Tallarico is so dangerous, because he presents a false gospel and he presents it in such a way that's like, hey, this is medicine that will help you. And just like the cyanide and the Tylenol that happened in the 80s, you take that, thinking it's going to, heal your headache, and it ends up killing you. And, you know, we got Halloween coming up, and people go trick or treating. There were people, you know, sick people over the years that have put poison in the Pixie sticks, and kids would eat it and die. They'd poison the apples. Kids would eat it and die. that's a sick, twisted person, an evil person that would do that. And that's why we call that out. So I hope that's helpful, Jimmy.

Caroline Hello. I just wanted to encourage some people that might be like me. I don't have a lion personality, but when it comes to my faith, I feel like I'm really bold. And that's not because of me. I think it's because of my. I study the Bible, I pray, and just the more you get to know Jesus, the more, I don't know, he makes you brave.
Pastor Jeff Schreve He does. I think, too. You know, my personality is not that. the Lord has given me that in the call to, preach the Gospel. But, I'm a shy person by nature. but when you understand. When you really love people and you understand the bomb in the building illustration, you open your mouth, even if people think you're crazy or think you're weird, you're compelled by love to open your mouth and warn them this is going to take place. I don't. I don't want to see you perish. I want to see you saved. And so that is a, You know, the Bible says in Second Corinthians, Chapter 5, that it's the love of Christ that controls us, and the love of Christ compels us to tell people the truth because we don't want to see them perish. Caroline I am doing great. I am calling today because I thought that I had been saved my whole life. I was raised Baptist. I was in a Baptist school. And I said the prayer when I was 8, and I was on board. And then I went to something called De Colores. And at, De Colores, I learned that I was never truly saved just because I said a prayer and asked for forgiveness every night. That if I didn't live by the commandments and follow the law of God, he would spit me out like he didn't know me, because I was a lukewarm Christian. And I learned from there what it was to have discernment and what it was to hear God and what it was to live by his ways. And now we are Halloween. Okay. I've celebrated Halloween every year of my life. I used to have very demonic decorations. We all celebrated it. My whole family celebrated it. and this year, I got rid of everything. Unless it was to do with harvest and strictly harvest, it was gone, out of my house. My children, I'd explained to them why we aren't celebrating and what we're doing different this year. And I have had a lot of discernment over the last few weeks of this, and I think I'm crazy for it, but I'm gonna just come out and say it. So on the darkest night of the year, when they say the veil is lifted, it's the lightest. And spirits can travel both ways. All the Christians that are true Christians hide, right? Because they don't want to be with the dark. But why are we not out being light in the darkest night of the year, spreading the gospel of Christ to everybody that usually wouldn't be out to hear it? It is the most available night of the year to reach millions of people and explain God and pass the gospel to everybody, whether they want to hear it or not. And be shield by the blue dome that Christ has given us, protect us from the demonic spirits. Why are we hiding? For protection.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. well, I appreciate that, Alexis. I appreciate you guys. Colin Alred. Yeah, we definitely don't need to be hiding. It is an opportunity. If people come to your door, it's an opportunity to tell them about Jesus and to, to give them a treat, but also to give them the gospel and, to let them know that, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life. Pastor Jeff Schreve Welcome to Real Truth for Today with Pastor Jeff Schrieve, Senior pastor of First Baptist Church in Texarkana, Texas. Now here's Pastor Jeff. Well, good Wednesday morning and welcome to Real Truth for Today. Pastor Jeff Shareve here. Hope you're having a wonderful morning. We had a big crowd last night as we had the Wren Collective and David Crowder concert that we, we hosted here. And big crowd, lots of, lots of worship. People really, really enjoyed it. I'm not a big music guy, so that's loud. music is really not my scene. But, they did a great job. My son in law, who's our media director, Jay Budzielowski, he said, man, it went great. And so everybody seemed to, really, really en it. So we praise the Lord for that. Wanted, to read to you from Proverbs chapter 28. Today is October 28th. I try and read a proverb every day. I was told early in my Christian life that a proverb a day keeps the devil away. 31 proverbs. And you, read one every day. So proverbs 28. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing. But the righteous are bold as a lion by the transgression of a land, many are its princes. But by a man of understanding and knowledge, so it endures. A poor man who oppresses the lowly is like a driving rain which leaves no food. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. Evil men do not understand justice, but those who seek the Lord understand all things. Well, we're going to unpack that a little bit, this morning especially, where it says that those who forsake the law, praise the wicked. We have a lot of people doing that today, and, we have a whole party. It seems to me that's so upside down morally, as I've stated many, many times. Isaiah, chapter 5, verse 20. Woe to those who call evil good and good evil. when you are supporting criminals and coming against those who are being victimized, your moral compass has broken. Nick, the guy that, exposed all the fraud, Nick Sherley, you know, he said when I exposed the fraud in Minnesota, he said the, left didn't come after the fraudsters, they came after me. What did they do in California? Nick Sherley goes to California, starts exposing fraud. What does Gavin Newsom do? He passes a law to come after Nick Sherley. What did Donald Trump do? He gave Nick Sherley $10,000. Ah. As a reward for exposing waste, fraud and abuse. So those who forsake the law, they praise the wicked. But those who keep the law strive with them. That's what we do. We strive with those who are, who are wicked and who are forsaking the law and who want to turn our country into, something else than it was founded to be, to be a socialist wasteland. We come against that, we fight against that. America is worth fighting for. And it is worth it for us to stand up and speak up, whether people listen to us or not. that's not, our call. That's not within our job description. And you make them, obey you or respond to you. No, you warn them. we're the watchmen on the wall. We warn them and we say, hey, the enemy is coming and disaster is coming and you need to prepare. If they respond to that, great. If they don't, that's on them. That's not on us. But the Lord says, hey, if you don't warn them, you see the enemy coming and you don't warn them, and you're a watchman on the wall, well, their blood is going to be on your hands. I will require it from you. So it is October 28th. This is a special, special day in my family because it's my mom's birthday. My mom is 98 years old. And so I want to give a shout out to Lucille Schrieve there in Houston, Texas. she still lives in the house that we moved into in 1975 and, there in Lakewood Forrest. And, she lives by herself and, and she has lots of help. my brother in law comes three times a day to feed her breakfast, lunch and dinner and to Take care of things. My sisters and my other brothers come and help her. Everybody lives in the Houston area except Debbie and me, as we live here in Texarkana, Texas, about five hours away. But, my mom is funny. She said, I don't understand why I am living so long. she has trouble seeing, she has trouble hearing. she has trouble walking. She said, but aside from that, beside from seeing, hearing and walking, I'm in pretty good shape. And her mind is sharp as attack. And, you just kind of have to shout at her a little bit because her hearing is not great, even with hearing aids. But, she does as well as she can. She's struggling a little bit with the uti. So if the Lord puts my mom, Lucille Schrieve, on your heart today, please pray for her and pray that she would have a special, special. Debbie and I are going to visit, her this weekend and, just get to spend some time with a wonderful lady. And, you know, as my mom, when she was 40 years old, going through a difficult time in her marriage, she grew up Catholic, has been Catholic her whole life, but started reading a book called, From Prison to Praise or Prison to Merlin Carruthers. And, it was during that time where she understood the love of God in a different way. And she said, you know, it became personal to her. And that's when she really, developed that personal relationship with Jesus. And that affected me as a young guy. I wasn't a Christian until I was 17, but I saw a change in my mom, during a hard time. You know, it's the hard times. We don't like the hard times. But God uses the hard times to bring us to our knees and to help us see how much we need Him. So let's get back to Proverbs 28. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing. But the righteous are bold as a lion. are you bold as a lion? We are called to come out from among them. 2 Corinthians, chapter 6. And be separate, says the Lord. We are called to be salt and light in a lost and dying world. The salt can't lose its savor. And the only way salt loses its saltiness is if it gets polluted. Salt with other minerals, salt with gypsum. Let's say it gets polluted and then it loses its saltiness. Because Salt, sodium chloride, NaCl, is a stable compound. And the only way that you can diminish, it is by diluting it and by compromising it with other minerals. So the Bible from the lips of Jesus. Hey, don't do that. Don't lose your saltiness. And don't take your light and hide it under a bushel basket. Put it on the lampstand so that it will light up the whole house. And, we talk about shine and share on real truth for today. What is the job of a Christian? To shine and then to share. We shine the way we live and we share what we say and how we tell people about Jesus, who's mighty to save, and how we strive with the wicked. Those who forsake the law praise the wicked, but those who keep the law strive with them. Now, I am convinced that, those on the left, many, many of those on the left, they have, been given over by God. Romans, chapter one. To a reprobate, depraved mind. A, mind that no longer functions. That no longer functions morally. Their minds still might be able to do math problems, and business deals, but it doesn't, function morally. And they call evil good and good evil. And we have to strive against that. We have to bring the light into the darkness as Jesus. Jesus said in Jon chapter three. You know Jon chapter three. Everybody knows, Jon 3:16. I say everybody. I mean, it's one of the most well known verses in all the Bible. For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in him should not perish, but have everlasting life, have eternal life. For God did not send the Son into the world to judge the world or to condemn the world, but that the world might be saved through him. He who believes in him is not judged. He who does not believe has been judged already because he has not believed. In the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the judgment. Okay, get ready for this. This is the judgment. That light has come into the world, and men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their deeds were evil. For everyone who does evil hates the light and does not come to the light for fear that his deeds will be exposed. But he who practices the truth comes to the light so that his deeds may be manifested as having been wrought in God. Hey, if you are committed to evil, guess what? You hate the light. You hate it when someone shines the light on your sinfulness. When Steven In Acts chapter 7, when he preached to the Sanhedrin, and when he said to them, he calls them out. Now these are guys that are not used to being called out because these are the high muckety mucks. But he calls them out and they get so mad. He said, you men who are stiff necked and uncircumcised in heart and ears, are always resisting the Holy Spirit. You are doing just as your fathers did. Which one of the prophets did your fathers not persecute? They killed those who had previously announced the coming of the righteous one, whose betrayers and murderers you have now become. You have betrayed the Messiah. You have murdered the Messiah. The long awaited Messiah. Guess what, guys? You murdered him. You who have received the law as ordained by angels and yet did not keep it. Now, when they heard this, he was preaching truth. He was filled with the Holy Spirit preaching truth to them. What did they do? He was shining the light on their darkened hearts. Now, when they heard this, they were cut to the quick, and they began gnashing, their teeth at him. They are angry, like gnashing teeth is like growling like a dog. you gnash your teeth in pain or in anger, and they are angered, and they put their hands over their ears. They cried out with a loud voice and covered their ears and rushed at him with one impulse, and they stoned him to death. They did not want to hear what he had to say. men loved the darkness rather than the light, for their deeds were evil. That's what it says in Jon, chapter three, right after the great verse, the gospel in a nutshell, Jon 3. 16. Men love the darkness. and they don't come to the light because the light will expose them. but listen, all of us, if you have a testimony of faith in Christ, guess what? You have a testimony that says, hey, the light came and it shined in my sinful heart. And it showed me that I was a sinner in desperate need of a savior. And I responded to that. See, not everybody, hates the light. The, light hurts. You know, if you've ever been sleeping in a darkened room and somebody, wakes you up by turning on the lights, it hurts your eyes. And salt, we talk about salt. What is. You're the salt of the earth. Jesus said, well, what does salt do? Salt is a, is a preservative. for one thing, you put salt in with the fish, salt in with the meat, and it preserves it. It staves off the corruption. Salt also is, that which brings healing. Salt is that which burns in a wound. You know, we talk about you putting salt in a wound. When you put salt in a wound, it burns when you flip the light on and somebody has been sleeping in a dark room and he opens. She opens her eyes and they hurt because the light, is, is jarring. Well, that's what we are to be in our world. And some people hate the light. those who don't want to come to the light, they hate the light. But those of us who responded to the light, we welcomed the light. We said, lord, I'm a sinner. As blind Bartimaeus said, jesus, son of David, have mercy on me. We recognized our sinfulness as Zacchaeus recognized his sinfulness and gave his life to Jesus. Well, you're listening to Real Truth for today. Pastor Jeff Schrieve here on American Family Radio. Welcome back to the program, Pastor Jeff. Here we're talking about being bold as a lion. Proverbs 28:1. The wicked flee when no one is pursuing, but the righteous are bold as a lion. The church of the Lord Jesus Christ needs to be bold. One of the things that they prayed for in Acts chapter four, when they were threatened by the Sanhedrin and they said, speak no more in the name of Jesus. And they threatened them. And then they came back to the Peter and Jon came back to the rest of the group and they prayed. And what did they pray for? Lord, protect us. No, Lord, give us boldness. Grant your servants boldness that we may speak as we ought to speak. And God answered that prayer. The place where they had prayed was shaken, and they began to preach the word and speak the word with great boldness. That is the need of the hour that God's people would be discerning and God's people would be bold. you know, I think about things this way. If you worked in an office building, large office building. When I was working at Nalco Chemical Company, I had a lot of the downtown Houston buildings were my accounts. And those. Those buildings had, chillers and they had cooling towers, and I sold specialty chemicals for, chillers and boilers and closed, loop systems and open loop systems and biocides and corrosion inhibitors and scale inhibitors, all that stuff. Well, those. Those places needed that. And some of those buildings, were. I mean, they were huge. 40, 50, 60 floors. And, you know, if you. If you worked in a building like that, 60 floors, and you knew there was a bomb in the building and it was gonna go off, you didn't know when. You just knew, hey, this could go off at any moment, wouldn't you feel compelled to let everybody know? And if people made fun of you for believing that, would you just say, okay, well, I'm not gonna. I guess I shouldn't say anything. I'll just leave you to your own devices. No, you would urge people. Now, you can't make them leave, but you can sure urge people to leave and tell them this is what's going to happen. Listen, the Bible says in Second Peter, chapter three, but do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, because the argument in second Peter 3 is that, where is the promise of his coming? For ever since the fathers fell asleep, all continues as it was from the beginning of creation. And Peter says, hey, do not let this one fact escape your notice, beloved, that with the Lord, one day is as a thousand years and the thousand years as one day. God is outside of time. So just because it's been almost 2000 years since Jesus died and rose again, doesn't, mean he's not coming. He says the Lord is not slow about his promise, as some men count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing for any to perish, but for all to come to repentance. But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a great roar, and the elements will melt with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up. that's what's coming. And so what do we have? We've been given the job of Roaring, so to speak. The righteous are bold as a lion, and we warn people and we point them to Jesus, who is mighty to save. And as we said, yesterday, we really have the job of Noah. Noah, a preacher of righteousness who is building the ark. Now, our job is not to build an ark, but our job is to tell people, Jesus is the ark of safety. And you can come to him. He's our refuge and strength, the very present help in trouble. He invites you to come to him. Come to me, all who are weary and heavy laden, and I will give you rest. And so we need to be bold and we need to let people know, hey, at some time that this thing is falling apart. The world is a sinking ship. And, the only ark of safety is the Lord Jesus Christ. So we have, this ministry that the Lord has given us, and we need to tell people. Now. I posted, on Facebook just the other day, I posted the clip I played yesterday about James Tallarico, talking about, this fact that he presents himself as a Christian and he's kind of running on the fact that I'm a Christian, candidate on the left, which people have pointed out. If you were a true Christian candidate, you would never be a, candidate that the Democrats would support, because true Christians, support all the things that the Democrats are against. The Democrats are pro abortion. A true Christian is pro life. A Democrat is pro lgbtqia. A true Christian is not. A Democrat is for, this idea that biological men can be women. a true Christian says, that's impossible. A Democrat says, well, gender is on a spectrum. No, it's not. It's binary. God made you either male or female. True Christian is supporting Israel because we know that Genesis 12, when God called, Abram before he changed his name to Abraham, he said, I'm going to make of you a great nation. I, will bless those who bless you, and I will curse those who curse you. True Christian recognizes that, that Israel is special. The Bible calls Israel in the Old Testament the apple of God's eye. A true Christian is going to be for law and order, not for criminal behavior. True Christian is not going to be for the government taking all your stuff, like, you see, with socialism and communism and. And, but the Democrats are for that and getting more and more in that direction. A true Christian sees the danger of Islam because Islam is a satanic religion that is more than a religion. It's a total way of life. And, it is a major, major threat to America and every. Its track Record everywhere it goes, it subjugates people to. To a life of misery. You know, it's just oppressive. It's satanic. And you just see the devil's fingerprints all over it. See what Islam is doing to the Nigerian Christians, how they're killing the Nigerian Christians. That's how they operate. And I ran across. This was kind of interesting. I ran across this, comment by a guy, Nick, ah, Fritas. He is a green, beret, combat veteran, conservative commentator. And he talked about Islam. And, it was an interesting take because he talked about moderate, Muslims versus, what we call the radical Muslims. And he says, really? Is that. Is it really that the moderate Muslims are right and the radicals are not right? The radicals have deviated from, historic, Islam, the Islam that was practiced by Muhammad? Or is it that the radical ones are right and the moderates have deviated from what is historic Islam? This is what he had to say. If someone is playing Beethoven and they play it badly, I don't blame Beethoven. The concern that I have when I look at Islam is I feel like the people that are playing Islam badly are the nice moderate ones. If I point to someone that's a complete aberration, or I point to someone that is not living out their faith and they're the peaceful ones, I come to the conclusion that they're peaceful, not the faith that they claim.
Speaker C We want to convince ourselves that Islam is by nature the good guys. And then you have the few crazy guys. It's like you said the opposite. And I'll leave you with a final analogy, just to show you how the people who foist this arguments about what's real, Islam, how inconsistent they are. You know, Oskar Schindler was a Nazi, right? And he was a ranking Nazi. He was an actual member, not just a sympathizer or just some German living in the, you know, 30s. He was a member and, well, he's supposed to be a hero, right? He did great things. He saved Jews and others at no small risk to himself. And yet I have never heard someone. You know, I don't see a movement about how, hey, Nazism is misunderstood. Most Nazis are like Oscar Schindler. They're moderates. It's just the bad, the Hitler, he was just radical. That's not true. Nazism. Nobody does that. Right? And it's because we all by nature understand. Yeah, Nazism is. Is what Nazism is. You have people and members among them who will, you know, rise above it and do the right thing. And that's what those Muslims are. But we insist that, oh, you see, they represent good, real Islam. No, they don't. No more than Oskar Schindler represents good Nazism.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah, it makes that argument. That's. I believe that, if you study Islam and you study Muhammad, you, see that what they're doing in Iran, what Hamas does and Hezbollah and Al Qaeda, those place those terrorist cells and those terrorist regimes, that is true Islam. They take over. It's jihad. It's, everyone's going to bow the knee or we're going to cut your head off. And, the moderates, quote, unquote, moderates don't represent true Islam. Now, they might have more of them, but when it comes, as my friend Bill Federer says, hey, you know, you have the radicals that say, you know, our job is to bring about the whole world under the thumb of, Allah and his prophet Muhammad and the whole world under Sharia law. And, you have the moderate saying, well, that's going to come about at some time. We don't know when. And I'm not really push him for that. But he says, what you see as you have these countries, we've seen it in Europe with France and with Germany and with Italy. You let all these people in that have this ideology that everyone's going to one day, bow the knee to Allah. Well, they come in and you give them all this stuff. You're dealing with them like you're dealing with, you know, your uncle and thinking that they're good hearted and they want what's best for the country and, and everybody's on the same, you know, on the same mental, wire, you know, and we're thinking the same, we're on the same wavelength. Well, they're not. And so they see that as weakness. And then they say, hey, these people are just, they're just kowtowing to us. Let's just keep taking more and more and more and let's bring about this, this jihad without even having to fire a shot. And we will get in control and everything will be under the submission to Allah and Sharia law. And the moderates are like, oh, okay, well, I guess this is the time now. Because they all believe that this is what Bill Federer has deduced. They all believe that just one group thinks it's supposed to come now, and the other group thinks, well, it may not come for 100 years, but those guys that think it's coming in a hundred years, they quickly get on board when they see these dominoes start to fall. Well, getting back to what I had previously said, so I played the clip from James Talarico the other day where he was, talking about being a Christian. And, you know, he said that he learns from all the Muhammad and Buddhism and all the, you know, all the faiths. They just all come together and there's just many roads to God. You know, it's just typical Oprah Winfrey Christianity. That's not true Christianity. So I commented on it, and I just said, you know, this guy's not a Christian. He's a fake Christian. What this guy states that he believes is not Christianity. My issue with him is that he keeps trying to present himself as a Christian. A true Christian believes that Jesus is God in the flesh. He's God's only son and man's only savior. God in the flesh who died on the cross for our sins and rose from the grave. And he rose bodily on the third day. Talarico's pastor preached on Easter that, you know, we don't know if that happened or not. And he puts a big question mark anytime you start putting question marks on the word of God. that is. Should be a major red flag to everyone who names, the name of Christ. That. Wait a minute. Watch out for that guy, because that's what the devil does. I still remember a, message from Adrian Rogers on Genesis 3. Any man, any woman, any boy, any girl, anybody, anywhere who puts a question mark on the word of God is doing the work of the devil. Indeed, Satan says first thing out of his mouth to a human being. Indeed. Has God said, you shall not eat from any tree of the garden? These people trying to get you to question the word of God. come on, that can't be right. So I said, you know, a, Christian believes Jesus died and he rose bodily on the third day. If Jesus didn't bodily come out of the grave, First Corinthians 15 says, Your faith is worthless. We believe that Jesus is God's only son and man's only Savior. He's the only way to the Father. there is no salvation. There is salvation in no one else, as Peter said, for there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. And, that is the gospel. And if you don't believe that, guess what? You're not a Christian and quit presenting yourself as a Christian. And so, I had somebody respond, and this person said, well, shouldn't we just love everybody and pray? aren't we Supposed to just love. All in caps, everyone, including all our enemies, and pray for them. some people tend to forget about that. And, yes, God convicted me to post this prayers for everyone. Well, okay. That tends to be the, response. Well, you're being so harsh. We're just supposed to love people. Just love James Talarico. Well, I do love him. And real love tells, people the truth. Love does not rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth. That guy is. Is on a, speeding train off a cliff. If he dies, if he were to die tomorrow believing how he believes today, well, I can tell you with 100% certainty he wouldn't go to heaven. You say, well, how you judge not, lest you be judged. I'm not the judge. I can just tell you what the judge said. And the judge has made it clear there is salvation and no one else. For there is no other name under heaven that has been given among men by which we must be saved. the judge has said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but through me. Jon 14:6. And so if you don't see Jesus as the God man who died on the cross and rose again from the dead, unless you believe Jesus said, Jon 8. 24, unless you believe I am, you shall die in your sins. you're not going to be saved. And so love says to him, hey, you're barking up the wrong tree, pal. And unless you repent, you will all likewise perish. So I said to this person, I said, exactly. Real love warns people of the danger and deception. Real love warns trick or treaters not to go to the house where they're handing out poisoned candy. Real love knows, real hate knows that this house is passing out poison candy and says nothing, pretending all is well. Hey, we're called to be bold. Does the line. Wanted to I saw a clip from Josh Howerton who has done a lot, he's the pastor of Lake Point in Rockwall and he's done a lot to speak the truth and put his, put his name, his reputation on the line. He's bold as a lion. I might not agree with everything that he says and does. but I appreciate the fact that he is, especially in this election, he's making it very, very clear that we need to vote. And he had talked about, hey, we've had 8 million or so that they project 8 million self identified Christians who are not planning to vote. And so he played a clip the other day from a pastor who was pleading with his church, you need to go vote now. I would. And he said, hey, listen to this. Well I would agree that you need to go vote, but you need to vote biblically. It's not just that you vote, it's that you vote biblically. We have a lot of people that call themselves Christians and you know, they're all jazzed here in Texas, all jazzed about James Talarico. They put a sign in their yard. This is Talarico country. It's like, good grief, hey, I get it, you don't like Donald Trump, you don't like Ken Paxton, but you can't vote for Judas. You can't vote for the wolf in sheep's clothing. you can't vote for the guy that is a deceiver and much less that's his Christianity, which is not true Christianity at all. But then all the other stuff that comes with it, perhaps you heard this where, James Talarico was asked, what would Jesus say to the Senate? What would Jesus do if he visited the Texas legislature? I think he would tell us, blessed are the trans children who are bullied. he would not do that. This guy talks about trans stuff all the time. He's all for it. And, transgender, ideology is insanity. It destroys lives. We love people, so we're going to tell them the truth. And, we're, not going to swallow our whistle, so to speak, and not blow and sound the alarm because we see the enemy is coming. We love people enough to tell them the truth. So it's not just go vote. It is vote biblically. I saw this meme. It says if you have 10 people on a bus, three vote to take a left which leads off a cliff, two vote to take, a right which leads to greener, pastures, and five don't vote at all. I said, well, what's going to happen? Well, if three voted to take a left off the cliff and two voted against it, but five don't vote, guess what? All ten are going off the cliff. And so the meme was, you're not doing anyone any favors by not voting. Now, the worst thing you can do is vote to take a left to go off the cliff. The second worst thing you can do is to not vote at all, because then you're going to, you're going off the cliff. And so we need to vote, and we need to vote biblically. Caroline Hello. I was just wondering, you maybe have explained it, and I didn't get it. where the first, verse of chapter 28 in Proverbs where it said, the wicked run away when no one is chasing them. I just a little confused about what that really means.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Well, so you have, examples in the Old Testament where the Lord would, you know, these enemy armies, I think about the time that you had all these enemies, gathered around Israel, and the Lord caused them to fear, even though there was no enemy, and they thought that somebody was coming, and so they just left everything and so they fear when no one is pursuing. That's an example of that. the wicked, they have. The wicked have lots of fears. And, they'll run away from things, that aren't real. You know, it's. Fear is false evidence appearing real. But the contrast would be that we don't do that because we are bold as a lion. The lion does not flee. and so we stand there. And. And so that would be, the emphasis on that. Okay, here's an example where the wicked flee, when no one was pursuing them in the Old Testament yet. the righteous came. You know, you have the four lepers that go out there, and they say, well, they're besieging the city. We're all going to die. Let's at least go out there. And, if they kill us, they kill us. but we're going to die inside the city. And they go out and they find that all the people are gone, and they have all this food and all the booty, from the enemy, because they fled when no one was pursuing. But I appreciate that, Peggy. Caroline Hey, thank you. Thank, you, Ambassador Treeve. We listen to you all the time. We enjoy it. but had a question for you the other day. I wouldn't even get on, but we have a friend. she doesn't believe in the Trinity, and I'm pretty sure she doesn't believe Jesus is God. And I. I believe it, but I. I guess I'm always seeking confirmation. do you. How important is it to believe Jesus is God for salvation? is that it? Is it very crucial or is just believing he's the son of God? He's up.
Pastor Jeff Schreve It's critical. Jesus said, unless you believe I am, you will die in your sins. And so that's, Jon 8. 24. So therefore, he said to them, you will die in your sins, for Unless you believe that I am he. And the he is in italics, which means it wasn't really there. They added it for readability. Unless you believe that I am, you will die in your sins. And he goes on to say, before Abraham was born, I am. And they picked up stones to stone him, because they knew that that's the name of God. And so Jesus claimed to be God. That's what they. And the Old Testament, Old Testament didn't really. Those guys didn't see their Messiah as being the God man. In the NewSong. So. So Jesus comes in the NewSong Testament. And, they were seeing that the. The Messiah m. Is the son of David. He's a man. But Jesus asked the question in Matthew chapter 22. He asked the religious leaders, he said, the son of the Messiah, whose son is he? And they said, well, he's the son of David. He said, oh, then how does David in the spirit call him Lord when he says? The Lord said to my Lord, sit at my right hand until I put your enemies, under your feet. He said, if David calls him Lord, how then is he his son? And they couldn't answer the question. And no one dared from that day forward to ask him any more questions. So the question is, how can he be David's son and David's Lord? Well, the only way he can do that is by being both. He's the Son of man and the Son of God. He's 100% God and 100% man. And he had to be that in order to be the perfect sacrifice. Because no man, as it says in Psalm 49, no man, can by any means redeem his brother or give to God a ransom for him. For the redemption of his soul is costly. And so the Lord had to be perfect. That's why he's born of a virgin. That's why the virgin birth is so critical for salvation. Because if Jesus was born of just regular intercourse between a man and a woman, then he would have a sin nature and he wouldn't be the spotless lamb. And so, yes, critical. If you don't understand that Jesus is God, you don't know who he is. And so, if I put my faith and trust in, the Jesus of the Mormon. Well, the Jesus of the Mormon is not the Jesus of the Bible. The Jesus of the Mormon is not creator, God. And so, yeah, that Jesus doesn't exist. And that Jesus cannot save you. You've believed, as the Bible says in Corinthians, you've believed in another Jesus whom we have not preached, and that Jesus can't save you. So, the Bible has a lot to say. Galatians, chapter one. If anybody preaches to you a gospel contrary to that which we have preached to you, let that person be anathema. Let them be eternally condemned. Let them go to hell, because they are poisoning. They're putting, cyanide in the Tylenol capsules. They're telling you and feeding you something. That's why James Tallarico is so dangerous, because he presents a false gospel and he presents it in such a way that's like, hey, this is medicine that will help you. And just like the cyanide and the Tylenol that happened in the 80s, you take that, thinking it's going to, heal your headache, and it ends up killing you. And, you know, we got Halloween coming up, and people go trick or treating. There were people, you know, sick people over the years that have put poison in the Pixie sticks, and kids would eat it and die. They'd poison the apples. Kids would eat it and die. that's a sick, twisted person, an evil person that would do that. And that's why we call that out. So I hope that's helpful, Jimmy.

Caroline Hello. I just wanted to encourage some people that might be like me. I don't have a lion personality, but when it comes to my faith, I feel like I'm really bold. And that's not because of me. I think it's because of my. I study the Bible, I pray, and just the more you get to know Jesus, the more, I don't know, he makes you brave.
Pastor Jeff Schreve He does. I think, too. You know, my personality is not that. the Lord has given me that in the call to, preach the Gospel. But, I'm a shy person by nature. but when you understand. When you really love people and you understand the bomb in the building illustration, you open your mouth, even if people think you're crazy or think you're weird, you're compelled by love to open your mouth and warn them this is going to take place. I don't. I don't want to see you perish. I want to see you saved. And so that is a, You know, the Bible says in Second Corinthians, Chapter 5, that it's the love of Christ that controls us, and the love of Christ compels us to tell people the truth because we don't want to see them perish. Caroline I am doing great. I am calling today because I thought that I had been saved my whole life. I was raised Baptist. I was in a Baptist school. And I said the prayer when I was 8, and I was on board. And then I went to something called De Colores. And at, De Colores, I learned that I was never truly saved just because I said a prayer and asked for forgiveness every night. That if I didn't live by the commandments and follow the law of God, he would spit me out like he didn't know me, because I was a lukewarm Christian. And I learned from there what it was to have discernment and what it was to hear God and what it was to live by his ways. And now we are Halloween. Okay. I've celebrated Halloween every year of my life. I used to have very demonic decorations. We all celebrated it. My whole family celebrated it. and this year, I got rid of everything. Unless it was to do with harvest and strictly harvest, it was gone, out of my house. My children, I'd explained to them why we aren't celebrating and what we're doing different this year. And I have had a lot of discernment over the last few weeks of this, and I think I'm crazy for it, but I'm gonna just come out and say it. So on the darkest night of the year, when they say the veil is lifted, it's the lightest. And spirits can travel both ways. All the Christians that are true Christians hide, right? Because they don't want to be with the dark. But why are we not out being light in the darkest night of the year, spreading the gospel of Christ to everybody that usually wouldn't be out to hear it? It is the most available night of the year to reach millions of people and explain God and pass the gospel to everybody, whether they want to hear it or not. And be shield by the blue dome that Christ has given us, protect us from the demonic spirits. Why are we hiding? For protection.
Pastor Jeff Schreve Yeah. well, I appreciate that, Alexis. I appreciate you guys. Colin Alred. Yeah, we definitely don't need to be hiding. It is an opportunity. If people come to your door, it's an opportunity to tell them about Jesus and to, to give them a treat, but also to give them the gospel and, to let them know that, Jesus Christ is the way, the truth, and the life.
